About SwiftKey
SwiftKey is a popular smartphone keyboard app first released in 2010. The prediction engine used by SwiftKey makes use of data from social networks, text messages and even emails from the user’s device. Predictions appear above the keyboard as soon as a letter is typed. SwiftKey learns users’ writing style to suggest next word. It can even predict favourite emoticons.
The app is ad-free and can be downloaded for Android or iOS platforms. SwiftKey is used in more than 300 million devices worldwide. Developed by Jon Reynolds and Ben Medlock, SwiftKey became part of Microsoft in 2016. The predictive app, that has won several awards, is currently available in more than 190 languages. They include Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Punjabi, Spanish, Thai and Turkish.
Users can choose between five different sizes to resize the keyboard. There are also a selection of beautifully designed themes to choose from. You can visit the Support section of the website if you have queries regarding how to use SwiftKey, installation, languages, personalization or troubleshooting.
Hi. I used to love Swift Key, I’ve used it for years. But a few months ago it started doing something so ridiculous that I can’t believe a human had programmed it to do this. Now, every so often, when I’m swiping a word it becomes two words. It is so annoying. Please tell me how to turn this feature off. Not once in the history of swiping a word have I wanted it to become 2 words. I’m so frustrated by this. Please, please tell me how to turn it off. There must be a way, it’s the worst feature that could have been added to swift key. It catches me out so often. And it’s confusing to whom I typing to because I then type the correct word with a * but there are 2 incorrect words and it’s not clear what I meant to say even with the correction*. For example I just swiped the word “even” and it became “we been”. This has happened countless times and I’m sick of it. I’m seriously considering changing keyboards. Never, not once, has this feature been useful. I swipe one word at a time, never do I want it to become two words. Please tell me how to turn it off. Thank you.
