My wife and I ate at the Captain D’s on Gunbarrel Rd.Chattanooga Tn. on Thursday March 30th 2023 around 2:00 PM. We have eaten at Captain D’s for many years but we will not be going back. I ordered the chicken strips and my wife ordered the 2 piece fish plate with cole slaw and fries. When we received the meals everything looked??? good. We got some honey mustard sauce for the chicken and tartar sauce for the fish. The sauces were in a stainless steel container sitting on ice which was almost melted, the packets were warm to the touch even to the bottom of the container. When I opened my honey mustard there was mold in the container, I opened another one and mold was in it too. We showed it to the guy working in the dining room, and he took them back to the kitchen, he never returned with fresh sauce and nothing was said to us. My wife opened her tartar sauce, it was separated, not eatable. As we were leaving we saw the same guy at the front door and told him that someone was going to get food poisoning and he still did not respond. The fish and cole slaw both also had a funky taste! Needless to say, we did not consume the 25.00 dollar meal. Never again!!!
On tonight March 29, 2023 at 8:53 pm I came to Store 3379 to purchase dinner. I place my order and my purchase was $17.36. When I arrived to the drive-through window, a young lady by the name of Anqunette proceed to take my money. I gave her $10.00 cash and asked her to charge my card $7.36. I gave her my card to pay the remaining balance of $7.36. She gave me my drinks and food and stated that it did not go through and asked for my card again. She charged my card the total $17.36 and gave me the receipt. I noticed the charge once I got home and realized that she pocketed my $10.00 cash. I only had enough on my card to pay the remaining balance of $7.36 . I am going to contact the cooperate office as well as speaking with a manager at the 3379 location. I tried to go back to the restaurant but it was closed . Please advise. This is my second letter, I did not know it the first one went through.
After Church Services On Sunday, March 5, 2023, at approximately 11: 53 AM, I visited the Captain D’s located at 2386 E S Blvd, Montgomery, AL 36116. The Individual taking my order was professional, friendly and engaged. I was very pleased with the process, as I usually am. When I drove to the window to pay and pick-up My order, I was Shocked, Appalled And Repulsed. When the staff took my credit card and moved from the window to complete the transaction, I noticed that His attire was very unprofessional. His pants, while belted were sagging below his buttocks. This individual was physically handling my food that was for consumption. As he had the five customers before me, and would do so for the customer’s behind me. This IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
My wife and I had the great fortune to meet Kenni as we stopped by Captain D’s in Brunswick, Ga on Friday night. She was remarkably kind and a pleasure to speak with. Fabulous personality and very engaging. Great hire Captain D’s…Thank you Kenni..
Went thru the drive thru at Evansville Indiana Captain Ds spent over $50.00. When i looked at the receipt while waiting on our food i noticed she didnt add our shrimp tried to get the cashier to the window went inside to add shrimp and pay, then when we got the food and asked for tarter and ranch for poppers. When i got home i had a small thing of tarter for a ten piece fish. So i call and the woman got smart and said thats all you get for a family meal. Said she was the manager.
I went to Captains D Little Creek Rd. In Norfolk Va. I went through the Drive through and ordered a Fish Sandwich with cheese Combo. I got my order and pulled over to the side to eat a fry and take a bite out of my sandwich. The bun had tarter on it so I opened the sandwich, both buns was loaded with tarter enough for several more sandwiches..drenched in tarter, went back through the window, they replaced it alright, all they did was changed the top bun, the same bottom bun with glops of tarter on it and old fries was under the bun.it was disgusting.
My husband and I are frequent customers, majority of the time we get the fish & shrimp meal. Recently I was talking with a friend and he told me to make sure and ask for the senior discount. Today I did that. The order took forever, we were sitting at the drive thru window. Discount wasn’t bad but when we got home which is about a 20 minute drive we were shocked when we opened our meals. Instead of the regular meal at a discounted price, they cut the meal. We got one fairly small strip of fish & 3 shrimp instead of the normal 2 fish & 6 shrimp. We called and the manager we spoke to kept asking what the ticket number was. I had to track down the ticket while doing so I kept trying to tell him what we got. He didn’t want to hear it. I got a little upset, finally hung up. I’ve NEVER been anywhere that cut the amount of food for their discount. A friend of mine has worked in restaurant business for years, she’s never heard of that either. I saw no where on the sign or online menu that says that. I won’t be eating there anymore.
I went Captain Ds location 364781 today at 14:30 for lunch. I had the catfish sandwich combo with fries and tea/lemonade mix to drink. The sandwich and fries were fresh/hot. Everything was very good. The service was also a plus. Great job, Captain Ds!
We used to eat at Captain D’s in Huntington WV every Sunday. It would be crowded. Now the food is so bad that they have very few customers inside on Sunday. The hushpuppies are so gross now. I used to love them. Yellow corn dough, not done. I got catfish and it was breaded with the same kind of dough, as was my husband’s fish tenders. The dough was not done through, so therefore the fish was not done. Fries and slaw were not bad. Had to use small catsup packs, and about 1 teaspoon of Cocktail sauce in the cup they gave us. I don’t think we will be eating at Captain D’s anymore.
Used to really enjoy going there.
Went to captain ds in overland mo. We have been to that one before it’s the newest one there. I’ve noticed that they don’t give the right amount of fries. If you buy a10 piece meal it supposed to be at least four orders of fries and the 10 piece feast the menu have six orders .Each time we don’t get the right amount it’s sad. I even called that number at the window of the person who covers that restaurant. They never returned my call. Today it happened again with the feast it was about 2and half orders of fries. The shrimp was hard as a brick and the stuffed crab. Then we ask for vinegar the young lady said we’re all out of vinegar at a fish restaurant. That’s the type of service that you never want to go back!
Went to d’s for supper, wanted the seafood feast but they told us they were out of okra beans MAC & cheese etc the only thing they had was corn and baked potatoes so we took that. They charged me for the potatoes and corn and did not give me a discount for not getting the sides that came with the meal so that 35.00 meal costed me over 55.00. I guess I will not be eating at captain d’s anymore.
I am disappointed in Captain D’s. I went to order a 10 piece of fish. It costs $30.00 and the fish were half the size of what it use to be. Not worth stopping at your place anymore. Life is hard enough.
I was at Captain D’s in Huntington, WV on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 7:30 pm. The staff was not friendly and I asked for more butter and silverware and the staff kind o threw it to me and the restaurant was freezing cold. They must not have paid the heat bill. Everyone was complaining about how cold it was in there. It was cold outside but outside felt warmer than in there.
I went to the Captains D’s on 11/11/22 located at 649 Carlyle Ave. Belleville, IL 62221 and ordered the #4 & #6. My fish and hush puppies were not done at all. It was disgusting to look at.
I decided to go to Captain D’s tonight at 7:21p on 9/26/22. I think the store number is 0294 located in Crater Rd Petersburg,Va. phone 804-862-8520. I chose the Giant Fish, 5pc shrimp with Okra. I asked (T3-DT-cashier) to request fresh lettuce so I wouldn’t have wilted lettuce. Note: I have experience in food service. The nice cashier requested fresh lettuce. The cook asked for her to repeat. The cashier repeated. The cook made a RUDE comment. The cashier stated, “watch your mouth” and looked at me, knowing I heard what he said. The cashier closed the window so I could not here the rest of his comments. I asked the cashier if the cook tainted my food. She stated, “no.” I will not be returning to Captain D’s due to poor customer service and meal. I looked at my sandwich and he purposely gave me a plop of mayonnaise and wilted old lettuce.
I go to Captain D’s every Wednesday specifically to get the senior citizen discount. Today I was told that the discount wasn’t available anymore. When I asked why the employee told me the system was being updated and he didn’t know when or if the discount would be available again. This is very disappointing . Most seniors live on fixed incomes and appreciate the discount because every little bit helps. Not sure I’ll be going to Captain D’s now .
Visited store number 3571 in Gardendale, Alabama on 9-13-22 @ 16:54 pm. Upon arriving with my family, both of the front doors were locked. While we were deciding what to do an employee unlocked the door and informed us if we were going to stay it would be a 10 minute wait before we could order and another 10 minutes before we could get our food. She was very rude and did not explain what was going on and did not apologize for the inconvenience. After receiving several eye rolls and huffs she wouldn’t take our money andwhen she finally did,I had tell tell her to give me my change. I finally had enough and told her as a team lead at panera Bread I would never treat my customers that way. She stated, well this is not panera. she said she was wearing a headset and couldn’t wait on me and drive thru. I told her to wait on the customers in front of her. That is when she told me to leave. I had already paid plus my husband, who is a diabetic was needing to eat. If she had said something like we are short staffed and our wait time might be a little longer than usual. Please be patient for we are doing the best we can, everything would have been OK. Personally I feel she needs more training.
I went to the Captain D’s when they open at 1030 and waited at speaker for 5 minutes and no one answered, drove around and they lady was standing there looking at the window and would not try to stop me or take my order! This has happened to other times and it really made me upset, I wish I was a secret shopper I was rate this store bad.Workers like that cost company’s money!
Walking into a restaurant and hearing music with the lyrics involving indecent words should never happen. Then being treated extremely rude and having to hear how the cashier has “to pee” makes for a disgusting experience.
The food at the Bluefield West Virginia was old and nasty, the floors and tables were dirty, cooks screaming at each other in the back, also cussing. It has never been like this before, the person in control did not care about what was going on in restaurant. Manager was not here. I don’t know what’s going on now with management the new supervisor is not controlling his stores and I have pictures to prove it.
This comment is for Captain D’S #3577 Dalton Ga. Guest #046. My husband and I had seen the advertisement for the new Cajun (spicy) flavored fish so we drove to Dalton to try it. It wasn’t really busy but the young lady that took our order didn’t seem to understand English. My husband pointed to the wall a couple of times for choices, 2 piece spicy fish with all that comes with it for $5.99. (x2). He ordered one more piece of fish. When we got our order we looked at the ticket and realized that we had been charged for food we didn’t really order. Mine was $7.29 for two pc fish ml and my husbands was $8.69 for 3 pc fish ml plus they added a med drink for $2.59 we did not order. We ordered 2 waters. Our total bill was $19.97. We could not get the girl to understand that it was wrong, leaving us frustrated. We vowed never to come back. The person at the counter taking orders needs to be able to understand English.
I stopped at your location in Summerville SC. I waited in drive thru for 35 minutes. If service continues this way, you will be closed shortly. More people left than waited. Poor service.
I went through drive thru and order the okra. It was awful and I got another order, the same thing. I asked for the manager and he stated that the okras were frozen. I work In food service so I know that wasn’t true. I order sweet tea I got unsweetened tea. I got very poor service. And employees should wash hands after handling cell phones. Captain D. At Bedford,In. Food was cold. Another customer got cold fries. The counter was too busy and I was ignored. Some guy she was talking to and he had been behind the counter also. He was not in business attire. Sloppy dressed. Please remove emails to me. I do not plan to return and receive cold food again. It was a dine in.
Went to the Lynchburg Captain D’s for supper last night and was greeted and waited on by a very nice young lady…she was very helpful and double checked everything and i did not have to keep asking her is everything in the bag and she gave great customer service…thank you Captain D’s for Megan.
Visited your location in St. Louis on the corner of Grand and Chouteu. While waiting for our order we had to clean our own table no problem. When we returned to the counter there were no trays available. I am a disabled senior citizen with mobility issues in hands and arms and was in my brace but we carried our own food in our hands and it took;2 1/2 trips to bring it. A couple minutes later a white shirted employee escorted another customer to her table after messing up her order. The customer offered to carry her food herself, the white shirted employee told her it was against the law for her to carry it herself and didn’t tell the customer that nicely. I asked the white shirted employee if I could have a complimentary soda for my trouble since I had served myself. She berated me and the new employee saying he was new and admonishing him in front of the other employees. My food was cooked incorrectly and I asked for a replacement she continued to berate me, told me since someone else had paid for my food she would only be addressing her. Not once did she offer to replace my food offering instead a partial refund for food I never ate. She ended up bullying me and started to physically harass me trying to remove me from the store even though I was leaving on my own. Telling the person who I was dining with to get the receipt so that we could call the corporate office. I sat in my car in 90 degree heat while my dining partner remained inside for another 10-15 min trying to get a refund for the food I never ate. The receipt given was for a voided order with no real identifying information. Which is why I am contacting the corporate office, never in my whole life have I ever been so hurt and embarrassed in all my life. No matter how I tried to deescalate the situation explaining that to her all she wanted to do was escalate the situation until the whole crew was behind the counter watching what was going on, as she practically shoved me out the door.
Visited summerville s.c.location today. The prices are way up and quality and quantity way down!! Fish looked terrible, pieces very small like cut into 2 pieces for each one, fries not very cooked not crispy at all. This restaurant was always very busy but not any more and now they have lost more customers since we will never come back!!!
I won’t be going back to the Burnet, Texas location. Not even if the food was free and I was starving. I got violently ill after eating the Tilapia special a few weeks ago, it was good poisoning. Today is a Sunday, not much to choose from locally unless you want cheap burgers or tacos. I went back to Capn D’s in Burnet, got the catfish special and I should have checked the order before I left. I got items I didn’t order and the items I wanted were not there. Only thing right was the sweet tea. Fish under cooked and spongy. Sides Luke warm, and not what I ordered. I paid for funnel cakes, none were given. The big boy working the window hates his job and doesn’t mind telling you. He’s not getting any sympathy from me. Three orders in a row, he’s either given me the wrong items, or undercooked food. I’m not done yet with my complaints. You’ve ruined too many of my meals that I bought in good faith.
Visited Captain Ds for lunch today at 9335 Kingston Pike, Knoxville TN with my teenage granddaughters.—dine in. We had: whitefish, baked potato and fries – fries and baked potato were cold and hair found in hush puppy. We had catfish and shrimp with fries – again fries were cold. We had white fish sandwich and coleslaw. Sandwich was saturated with tarter sauce and cold. Let guy behind counter know that the Pepsi dispenser was empty we were told they were out of Pepsi and to choose something else. When the girls asked for tarter sauce for their meal they said they would bring some to the table – which was not brought. When to front counter and asked for some and was told they would have to make some and would bring it to the table – which they finally did. The meal was not enjoyable at all. As a person who owns a business, just thought you needed to know what is going on in your stores.
Just left the Captain D’s in Dickson TN, Just wanted to give a big thank you to the staff that was working tonight, there was only 4 of them but they was doing a fantastic job.
Visited Millington location tonight and sat in drive thru line for 25 minutes just to order and then had to confirm order of 2 4 piece fish meals, one with green beans and okra and one with green beans and Mac and cheese with extra order of fries and extra order of Mac and cheese, which cost me $35. We got a 2 piece chicken with corn and slaw and a 4 piece chicken with green beans and Mac and cheese with stale, cold fries and Mac and cheese.. This location needs to be shut down and I am guessing maybe someone else got my order.
