About Palacio de los Deportes
Palacio de los Deportes is a popular indoor stadium in Mexico that opened in the year 1966. Owned by the state government, the multipurpose arena has a seating capacity of 18,000. For concerts it can accommodate up to 24,500 guests. Built for the 1968 Summer Olympics, the arena is currently operated by Grupo CIE. Part of the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City complex, the arena is also popular as ‘Palace of Sports’. The arena regularly hosts basketball, indoor soccer and other sporting events. Additionally, the venue has been extremely popular for hosting musical concerts over the years. The East Pavilion hosts large expos and school events.
