About Clue
Thanks to this Android and iOS app, tracking period and ovulation has never been more easy. Clue: Period Tracker is a menstrual health app developed by Berlin-based BioWink. There are more than 13 million people using the app to track period and fertility cycle. Clue predicts users’ periods and PMS based on data provided. Launched in 2012, the app claims to be different from others by being science-based and fully ad-free. Besides tracking period and ovulation, the app helps predict period for next three cycles. It will further keep a log of menstrual symptoms, PMS and moods. And the calendar sends reminders for upcoming periods or ovulation.

Another nimble feature of the app worth drawing attention to is the birth control tracker. Clue’s birth control algorithm is based on the Dynamic Optimal Timing (DOT), that dynamically calculates a woman’s conception risks for each day of her cycle. You can set birth control pill reminders or use ovulation calculator if you are trying to conceive. All the tracked data you can intelligibly see on the Calendar tab. That is not all, click on the app’s Analysis tab to get detailed information on your body. There are more than 30 tracking options to check cramps, skin, hair, emotions or sleep.

For users who seek more from the app, Clue added the Cycle Analysis feature that offers an overview on cycle lengths, period lengths, and cycle length variation. However, this feature is only available with Clue Plus. Subscribers will receive an email with a summary of most recent cycle, six period predictions, and predictions for most recurrent symptoms. You can pay for a monthly or annual subscription. You can edit or cancel your subscription any time.

To use Clue, you will need to first create an account. As you register, you will be asked a set of questions on how long your period lasted and when your last period started. These are useful to make your first predictions and help accurately track. By clicking on the green +, you can start entering data, including details of symptoms, bleeding or others. All data will be stored on cloud and can be accessed any time. If you want to remove your data from Clue, you will need delete your account on the app. Use the Backup feature to create a data export and send to an email address. You can use backup and restore features to restore data on a new device as well.

Want to share with friends or family members the current and predicted cycle? Clue Connect can do just that. Through the feature, you can show a friend or partner the dates for your current and predicted cycle, be it menstruation, PMS or ovulation. You can choose whom who you want to share data with, or even remove someone from list. Clue also offers a wealth of resources helpful in managing PCOS or irregular cycles, and tips and remedies by experts. The website covers a wide range of topics, from menstrual cycle, birth control to fertility. You can educate yourself on abortion, hormonal and non-hormonal birth control, puberty, miscarriage, bleeding, menopause and more. Visit the Support page if you have any queries on using the app.
