I have recently travelled from JFK through Delhi to Kathmandu by AI-102. I ask the lady who issued my boarding pass about the collection of my check bag in Kathmandu. She said that I must collect in Delhi Airport. I reminded her about the connecting international flight by the same airline, however she did not listen to me and showed of a kind of rude expression. Upon arriving to Delhi, the airlines staffs said I don’t need to collect my bag here, this will be uploaded for final destination and I can collect in Kathmandu Airport. Please educate your staffs at JFK and let them know a polite expression and helping attitude do not cost.
I was flying to Hong Kong from Kathmandu with a 14 hour transit in Delhi through Air India flight number AI 216 on the 13 November.
I was travelling with my mother and my 6 year old daughter for her visa extension in Hong Kong. After submitting all required documents including negative RT-PCR test results from Kathmandu and subsequent testing in Indira Gandhi International Airport itself, we waited out our 14 hour transit. When it was time to board the plane on the morning of 14th November, the Air India check-in personnel had issued a boarding pass for my mother, and my daughter. When it was my turn, they said I do not have a visa stamp on my passport. I showed them my Right to Land ID card which grants me travel access to Hong Kong. The Air India staff did not want to listen to my explanation. I asked the senior duty staff to verify this information, but they were very rude and said their decision was final and closed the counter and left. They didn’t even bother to give us any solution. I have a Hong Kong Right to Land ID card). I requested them many times to verify my documents and to also check with superiors or someone with knowledge regarding Hong Kong Right to Land ID cards.
I even said to the check-in counter to let my daughter and my mother to board the plane since my mother is a permanent resident of Hong Kong and my daughter has a valid Hong Kong visa due to expire on the 30th of November, 2021. Even if I was not allowed to board, I thought I would sort out the issue and fly to Hong Kong on the next flight. That request was also denied.
Due to strict regulations regarding in-bound travelers to Hong Kong, we were required to pay in advance the full amount for our mandatory 21 days quarantine in a designated quarantine hotel. Mind you, the payments are non refundable and non transferable under any circumstances. Since we were denied to board the plane for Hong Kong I am filing for reimbursement for our Hotel bookings at the Silk Seaview Hotel.
Since we were stranded at the airport for a long time with a 6 year old baby, we were getting tired and weary. The only option we had was to fly back to Kathmandu. I somehow managed to get 3 seats back to Kathmandu on Nepal Airlines flight number RA 206 on the 14th of November.
We were left mentally and physically distressed from this whole ordeal due to the incompetence of Air India. With my daughter’s visa expiring in a few days, we have limited options remaining. If we do not get to fly to Hong Kong within the 30th of November, my daughter’s visa will expire and I will have to leave her behind for a long time to reapply for her visa which in itself is a very stressful situation, having to leave behind one’s child. Even if we do get flights to Hong Kong, finding a hotel booking is another gamble, we had tried to fly out for Hong Kong since 12th October and had finally received both flights and hotels for the 13th of November but Air India screwed us over and left us in a very difficult situation.
Air India did not give me bording pass though i had full reservation round trip from kathmandu to colombo shrilanka . I have ETA visa approved but Air India kathmandu did not recognized ETA visa and refused my booking . I missed my flight , now what should i do ?

How much does it cost to change the date of departure?.. I want to postpone the date…..
Air India is rubbish. Even the telephone number in the website is incorrect. I tried to reconfirm my flights but all their telephone numbers dont work. I will never ever use this airline again.
First of all number is wrong. And when i called to 4113147 Airport office, no one is picking up the phone. Even number of Booking office is also not responding. This is very ridiculous.
Dear Sir
I travelled on AI 216 from Kathmandu to Delhi on the 20th of February 2012. My boarding No was 120. My seat no was 2 F
I shall be obliged if the e-ticket is sent to me as I need it for my office realisation
thanking you
Sincerely
I have been trying to book an air india flight for 24 hours and the website was first under maintenance (which is understandable) and then showed as error when trying to book! Chances are the technicians got fed up decided to go home….. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. You’d never get an error with the potential loss of customers with any other airline.
Ontop of that no has been answering the phones at the airport or booking office. DON’T BOTHER WITH THIS AMATEUR AIRLINE.
There is no call response from none of the offices. This is not good from customer’s perspective.
Air India agency,
Kathmandu, Nepal.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Im Mr Combelles Bernard from Switzerland. I came to Nepal via New Delhi with Air India flight number AI 215 on 12 Oct departed at 13:10. But unfortunately i’m missing all my luggages. I have 6 bags in all, and i’ve received only one yesterday from the air India counter at TIA. I’m very worried about my bags and that i couldn’t leave on the mountain at all without those bags.
I’d be so glad that if you could find it out soon and send to KTM as an emergency. I hope you will really help me on this regards, thanking you.
please ring up the customer support and they shall help you track your bags
Hi, the contact number for Kathmandu is not responded to even after 5 or 6 calls which gives out a very poor image of the carrier.
