There is no customer support. No one ever answers the phone! Would be nice to get some tech support and and answers from a human being instead of searching community chats. Very annoying
Im using WD passport metal edition in last 4 years, recently formatted then after files are copying speed will be gone and after 20% of copying after automatically stopped.I tried another files and pc also but same problem still exist..
any solution?
Hi,
I purchased WD Elements 1 TB (compatibility Mac OS) on 23-1-15 for $89.
The warranty was for 3 years, therefore the warranty expired on 23-1-18. It is now one year later and it is making a constant clicking noise, which apart from it being extremely annoying and frustrating, it was driving me up the wall. I am pretty sure it is on the way out (i.e. it is dying). I have had to disconnect the device from my computer.
I also purchased WD Elements 2 TB on 13-4-17 with a 3-year warranty. Is the second one going to do the same?
(Obviously a question you cannot answer).
The whole point is, that I do not think it is acceptable that I should pay what I consider is a substantial amount of money (i.e. $89) for the product to ONLY last 4 years.
How long are the Hard Drives supposed to last for?
I do not think that it should be malfunctioning.
It has sat on my desk in my computer without being moved/transported anywhere and it has not been misused.
Maybe I am being unreasonable in thinking that this product should last a lot longer?
I would like a replacement as I would be expecting your response to be that this is not a common occurrence.
Frankly, I am sick of technology products/devices breaking down or ceasing to work just after the warranty date. (Which seems to be happening quite frequently with products in general).
I would have thought that I would get years of use out of this product? IF this is not the case, you may want to explain to me why these products are made to last what I consider to be a ‘short’ amount of time.
Obviously, I am a disgruntled customer and I will NOT be purchasing or promoting any of your products in the future if I am not satisfied with your response.
Regards
Julia
