Paid via card, the machine battery died after my pin was entered, the waiter said that I had to enter my pin on another machine but I commented and said when that machine boots up I will get charged twice. He reassured me that would not happen, although I had my doubts I entered my pin on another machine. Guess what, I paid 2 x bills now have to wait 7 days for the Money back to me. I am not happy with this way of resolution. 08.01.23 transaction date.
We went to Wagamama in Oxford Street, London last Saturday. The service was terrible. The server was rude and unhelpful. I ordered a dish that never arrived after I had asked for it three times from other servers. We were totally ignored. When the food arrived it was awful. What’s happened to Wagamama it used to be a lovely place to go but now they seem to have servers that don’t want to do their job. When I asked for the bill and reminded the server to take off the dish that didn’t arrive she was so annoyed she literally throw the bill across the table and stormed off. I’ve never seen anything like this before. It was very upsetting and we remained polite. Needless to say there was no gratuity paid and I’ve told people not to bother going to Wagamama.
Disgusting service, delivered wrong meal then told me it wasn’t their fault. I was then encouraged to not to be a future customer, I was informed that he was busy and had to go, when I reminded him I was also a customer he said it wasn’t his problem, the Manager, yes the manager Marcello of the Uxbridge branch, then just hung up the phone. Revolting service.
I went on Father’s Day to your Wagamama’s in Crawley, West Sussex and the food and kitchen service was most disappointing. I have been to MANY Wagamamas around Surrey and Sussex but this was a joke !!! The waitress was excellent and that was the only thing good !!! There was no shortage of staff but the the 4 items we ordered for three came on after the other…basically one person was eating whilst the other two were watching. The food was SURPRISINGLY DISAPPOINTING !!! The beef tantamen I ordered was not only terrible but a rip-off for £13.75…half a boiled egg, few tiny pieces of kimchi, no more than 3 ozs of shredded beef if that and no more than the equivalent of two thirds of a packet of ramen you can buy in any supermarket ( even though it was not ramen). The pad thai one of my guest had was saturated in oil…the chilli squid was fried beautifully but too much salt sprinkled on and the chicken katsu was ok. I have travelled the world and have eaten in many places from takeaways to Michelin Star places and I would have rather had an ordinary burger meal than what I had. This meal was an insult to any Japanese standard of meal…I would not eat a meal like this again even if you paid me to. This is a complete letdown to all the other Wagamama Restaurants I have ever visited. If the Chef or Restaurant Manager was in any of the hotels or food outlets I have had under my control around the world was to let food of the standard I had that day come out they would no longer be in the positions they are !!! I suggest you get your area manager to go around incognito to check the quality and presentation of what is coming out of your kitchens !!!
I recently visited Waggamama in Victoria. We ordered a full bottle of wine but when it was brought to the table, the bottle was already opened. We challenged this as this is not common practice. A bottle should opened in front of the customers so they know it is fresh, and hasn’t been tampered with. When we explained this to the manager we were told that it was company policy to bring it opened at the table to prevent people from taking the bottle onto the streets. I explained that I was shocked at this policy as it does not make sense. Anyone could have placed anything in our bottle, (drugs, replaced it with something else etc) and it could have been opened the day before…. Who knows? Could you please explain why you have such a policy as it does not make sense. If this is your way of serving wine, I shall certainly make sure to dine elsewhere in the future. Many thanks
