Virgin Mobile South Africa was founded in the year 2006. It is a South African telecommunications company, and is owned by Virgin Group and Cell C. The company employs close to 500 people. As of 2010, Virgin claimed to have over 300,000 subscribers across the country. The company operates on the 1800MHz band spectrum.
Virgin Mobile has several plans that people can subscribe to. It’s Classic Contract has several airtime vouchers and can be topped up cell phone banking, online banking or through any ATM. The plan can be subscribed by submitting a copy of your ID, latest pay slip, 3 months’ bank statements, and other documents. There is also the TopUp plan and the Flexi Stick for fastest 3G internet. The FlexiStick modem-only contract incorporates the latest technology 21.1 Mbs HSPA+ modem.
I had a contract in 2011. My son’s phone was stolen in the 1st 3 months of acquiring the contract, with insurance taken on this contract and paying it every month we could not ever get a new phone!!! Neither could we get a sim card. So after my 2 year contract with absolutely NO assistance from Virgin mobile, now after years they have put me on a credit report for not paying outstanding amount of over R6000.

I have a problem, The account I had with Virgin mobile was paid up through collection company which is real people according to branch representative. No the problem is they have promised to email me proof of residence through my email that was last year, but until today I don’t have it. I just find out that I am blacklisted because of this account which it is paid in full.
Can I have clarity on why I am not receiving the proof and why I am I still blacklisted of the closed account.

I cannot tell you how Virgin has been mismanaging our entire account
We have a long standing relationship and we never once faulted on a debit agreement. We averaged a bill of about 13 000 Per annum with virgin for many years.
For no reason in October 2013 virgin stopped debiting our account and informed us around March that is debit is being taken off.This was after we sent full bank statements of 6 months from our company account.
There is no indication of a debit from October on-wards and NO REVERSALS at all because we have a standing arrangement with the bank of Athens with matching finance to secure our overdraft. This is a company account and as such the FSP we own has to have credit standing therefore our bank WILL NEVER dishonor our debit.
Notwithstanding the proof which we sent – virgin did not respond or check if their clerks made errors in not sending the mag tape.
Virgin has also not honored the several arrangements. Mr khan authorized for them to make manual debits to make this matter current.
It is sad that it has to come to this.
I am now making the manual payments of 2500 until this debt finishes and I have downgraded the contract to a prepaid.
Make no mistake that Mr. Khan wishes to pursue this matter and will make every effort to get senior staff look into the kind of shoddy work done by some individuals in their company.

My contract with you should expire with 24 months from the day of initial contract. According to my understanding my contract with you had expired last month. However, yesterday on the 28th day of November, I have received SMS from your office indicating that you will deduct money from account on the 1st of December 2012. Please can you clarify me as when my contract is going to expire with you.
Hi I’m having a problem with my phone, its a contract and now I have lost my job, wen I try to call Head Office my line is deactivated now I cant get hold of customer care.
My mom have done paying her virgin contract but she was not using the sim card now we tried to use the airtime we payed for all this time but after few calls the sim does not work again.
