The worst. The Langley, BC click and collect is a joke. I come in my slotted time and always have to wait MINIMUM 20 mins. The managers or whoever is obviously over booking and scheduling the click and collect. I won’t be coming back.
I have been shopping at Real Canadian Superstore for about 15 years now. I spend a lot of money there. On average now about $1000 a month. I don’t own a car so I have to Uber home. Twice now I’ve had trouble getting home with my groceries. The Lyfts and Ubers cancel. I’ve had my groceries defrost. And the cabs want $20 for a van. I’ve tried shopping online but not all the products are available online. Plus it’s time consuming and you and up paying more for less stuff and getting a bunch of stuff you don’t want. Superstore needs to have a delivery service for people who want to come in and do their own shopping. It’s disgusting I have to go through what I do after what I spend.
I absolutely hate the new “buy 2 and get a sale price! How many seniors need 2 or 3 of the same thing. I have never talked to anyone who likes this way of pricing. With the cost of groceries why don’t you give everyone the sale price when the need 1 instead of 2-4 of one item. This is disgusting!
Braden (not sure of spelling. He was tall, young, with curly light hair ) was an amazing cashier at the mission RCS. He had a difficult order ahead of us but he was very patient and efficient in handling it. He actually came back and apologized because the order took so long. Not often you see this level of customer service from the younger employees. Great job Braden!!
I feel like there’s a theme here on this message board, the total lack of customer service that’s being experienced. I was at store #00577 around 5pm today. I drive way further out of my way because the superstore does price match. However, today, the cashier refused my price matches because when she searched for them on her personal phone and could not locate them, so she deemed what I have invalid (even though I had it right on the screen in front of me to show her?). After her attempts to keep searching failed, I said ‘screw it’ and told her to just scan all my items in at regular price. Seeing as at 5pm in the middle of the week at a very busy location there were TWO cashiers working, and I wasn’t about to be that person who held up the line that was literally to the back of the store.
Every penny counts these days, which is why I choose to come here, but I won’t be any longer. Every time I walk through the doors more and more of your product is raising in price (goldfish are 3.50 a bag now??). And zero dollars of that is being reflected in the actual in store experience. How about quit focusing on online shopping and focus on those people who are actually in your store?
Where are the Canadian products. I understand bananas are not grown here, but I am sure we have Canadian apples, lettuce, carrots, potato’s etc. I am sick of seeing products that we grow in Canada not being on superstore shelves. Since when is an apple from New Zealand, or a carrot from Mexico reducing our carbon footprint especially in mid summer. I will now go to he co-op for my produce. A bit more expensive, but grown in Canada by Canadian farmers.
I have been a customer for at least 20 years. I am no longer a customer of this store. First you took away my points at the gas pumps. you used to sell the best milk and changed to the worst milk. the store runs out of product regularly. you know things like butter, mayonnaise, bread, Cereal. I have started shopping at other stores and have found that. prices are the same or better. Then just yesterday. I went to exchange my water bottle. Primo water I would pay $10.00 deposit and $6.99 for the water. And was told that the store was no longer taking the bottles back so I would no longer get my $10.00 deposit however I would still be paying the deposit. For the last ten years I have come to call this super store The stupid store. I am fed up and frustrated and I am finished shopping here. In incidentally I went to Walmart and found the same water bottle system and they do the exchange $10.00 deposit and 4.99 for the water. $2.00 less then the Superstore. And its has been that way for years. I was going to do my shopping at the Superstore yesterday. But after talking to customer service. I left and went to Walmart. And found a lot of product at a better price. The way your point system works now it is not worth shopping at your store. And I no long have to go to another store Because you are constantly out of every day products. thank you for your time. Kevan Cooper Very unhappy Customer for years. PS. I am talking about the Superstore in Nanaimo B.C.
Well you have lost a loyal Superstore customer today, disgusting price on a 450 gram loaf of bread (in store baked). I usually buy 6 loves at a time. I have watched the price of that small loaf go from 1.49 to 1.77 to 1.99 last week to 2 .49 today…there is absolutely no reason for such a huge jump. You are one of the largest grocery chains there is, and you charge that price for a small 450 gram loaf of white bread.
Wondering why you have items in the store priced so you have to purchase two or more to get a price break. Why not sell the product at the lower “sale price”. As it is I usually dont want 2 or more so I dont buy any because I feel Im not getting a deal just being forced to buy things I dont need.
This is a joke. They advertise a “special” on Tim Hortons instant coffee, 300g for $10.99 and then don’t have any stock. When I contacted customer service they want me to give my credit card info and pay $2 to get a firm to fill out!! Feels more like customer “dis-service” and fake advertising to get people into the store
I was at Superstore on Rochdale in Regina, SK on Thursday, June 23, 2022 to return a bag of salad as it was brown even though the best before date wasn’t until June 25..
I felt I should have been given the salad for free as I had to drive there to return it. Instead all they would do is either exchange it or refund my money. I took the salad as I needed it.
I later contacted the manager of the store. I explained how I felt to him in a very calm manner. And he said to me, and I quote, “I’m sorry but we can either refund your money or exchange . I explained I had to make a special trip to return this salad and was told “ you should just bring it the next time you are in the store.” I would likely not be there again until June 27. Two days after the best before day on my salad! Seriously??? And what would they do with it then? Totally ridiculous!
Sobey’s is looking better all the time!
Our local superstore is in Coventry Hills in Calgary. There is still only one entrance open on the west side of the store and therefore not enough handicapped parking stalls. A store of this size and the fact that Covid is no longer a problem should have both entrances/exits open for customers thereby allowing plenty of parking spaces for all. Please take this into consideration as I’m sure I’m not the only complaint on this matter.
On April 20/22 I went to 130th Calgary location. I spent over $500 in both the store and garden center. They told me the scanners were down across the city to scan points and PC financial cards. They told me to submit my receipts online. Oh my what a terrible experience this has been. I tried 3 x to submit online they say my images of my receipts are not readable. I have tried everything from taping them to white surfaces to cutting them in half to take a picture. Then went back into the store to have them tell me to call this 1-877 number and they could take my receipt numbers. This is where the experience went from bad to nasty. The customer service agent Karina was easily one of the rudest agents I have talked to in a long time. She would not help me. She told me I have to take better pictures even when I told her I have tried everything. I am clearly not getting my points. I went from a pretty loyal fan of PC Optimum to a highly disappointed customer who is looking back towards Safeway again.
We are Canadian Seniors, our friends are mainly Seniors and I am representing them with this request. I was delegated to write to you with our frustrations.
The amount of plastic packaging is overwhelming, especially in the baking department. Cookies, cakes, tarts, muffins, etc. are put in square or rectangular-shaped, firm plastic containers which are extremely harmful for our environment. Without going on and on, we beseech your companies to P-L-E-A-S-E find a different way to marketing these and similar products. Right now I have three of these plastic containers in my kitchen and I am only one person.
Our other frustration is that your stores do not accommodate for Seniors who want smaller servings. Couldn’t pies be cut in half, rolls in servings of six (my grocery store doesn’t want to serve their fresh dinner rolls in less than 12 and tell their employees not to serve them in less until the older ones are gone). Day old or two day old rolls don’t appeal, especially when our dollar doesn’t go as far these days. Smaller portions in the meat department would be appreciated too. P-L-E-A-S-E find ways to accommodate your Senior customers. Your practice of “buy 2 or more” for a reduced price especially aggravates us. We do not want 2 or 3 bottles of salad dressing, just as an example and why should people of ALL ages have to buy more to get a better price. It is so wrong.
I am only one of many people, not just Seniors, who share these concerns. We have voiced our concerns to clerks but they just tell us they feel the same way. We need CHANGE.
I would like to praise one of your employees, Mary-Jean she works at the Real Canadian Superstore in Brampton on Steels. Mary-Jean is a dedicated worker who is knowledgeable about everything in store. She has diligence, self-motivation as well as dedication to always go the extra mile in order to achieve the best possible results. She is cheerful and has outstanding customer service skills. I love coming to visit this store just to seeing her smiling face and warm welcome. She is definitely a keeper. Keep up the great work Mary-Jean.
I am the regular customer of real Canadian superstore at 3050 argentia road, Winston Churchill. I go to superstore 5 days a week. There was a lady named Janine and every time I visit superstore, Janine always mesmerized something in the ears of the employee when to go the counter at the cashier. Moveover, it also gives me feeling that I am stealing from the store. And this was not only one time but every time I go. And so because of this incident I feel like going to some other store rather shopping at superstore. And also she was insulting us in front of every other customer.
Superstore on St. Anne’s Road in Winnipeg, 6:30 pm on October 4, 2021 – MASK MANDATE IN EFFECT – WHY are people allowed in without a mask!?!?!? Why are children (over the age of 2) walking around, unmasked, coughing and coughing? Full family in attendance for shopping, which seemed like an activity more than anything else as they did not have a basket or a cart, just a mother, father and two young kids wandering around, kids unmasked and clearly sick. Another woman in the store wearing a mask under her nose, only her mouth covered. What happened to the employees who stand at the front of the store ensuring customers were masked up? No mask, no entry.
I am writing with respect to the RCSS in Ajax, ON. This store used to be my go-to for grocery shopping. However, in the last few months I have noticed a considerable decline in many aspects of the store. For example, the produce used to be fresh; now grapes are brown, cantaloupes are soft and raspberries have mold on them. Fruit flies abound in the produce section, which is disgusting. I have seen two women slip and fall on cherries at the checkout and blueberries just outside the door. Usually there are no shopping carts inside, so you either have to wait until they are brought inside or get one yourself from a cart stall. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, lines seemed to be manageable in this store. Now that we are beyond the lockdowns, the aisles are too close to the checkouts, which make lineups snake down aisles and make the area between the checkouts and the grocery aisles very congested and attempts at socially distancing very difficult. There are too few checkouts open for customers. Price/ad matching should be limited to a specific checkout to save everyone who does not price/ad check time. Some of the cashiers are downright rude and one cashier even asked me to leave anything “heavy” like a bag of potatoes in my cart because she cannot lift it due to her hand/arm limitations. Why is she working if she can’t properly perform her job duties? Just recently I visited the RCSS in Whitby to grocery shop and discovered a very clean and well-managed store. Although I live in Ajax, I would prefer to drive to Whitby where the store is far superior to the one in Ajax. Loblaw Company makes money hand over fist even during the pandemic and yet the Ajax store is comparable to a poorly-run No Frills. Clean up your act RCSS Ajax!
I am not impressed with the Pharmacy at Milton Real Canadian Superstore I phoned in for a prescription refill on Monday and the automated ready date was supposed to be Wednesday to pick it up I went on Friday instead to pick-up it and it still was not ready. Their excuse for the delay was due new updates to their system and told be it would take 40min if I wanted my prescription. I have had enough at this place no one should have to wait 4 days to get their prescription and then be told to wait 40min if they wanted it now. I am fed up and will switch to another pharmacy this was my last straw.
I wish they still have electronic department in all the superstores acoss Canada. Competitors like Walmart have large selection of electronics including brand name TVs, video games/consoles, audio devices etc.
We shop at the Winkler, Mb. store.Under current provincial health regulations and Loblaws dictates masks must be worn and social distancing are in effect. At any given time of day there will be at least 10 to 12 people who are not wearing a mask.I realize that your number one priority is to make money and anything else is secondary. You do not want to alienate customers.Whatever corporate babble you spout in ads and to the media is exactly that. Also the quality of your produce and other products has gone downhill. For vegetables and fruit we will be shopping at Coop.Your manager has discontinued some products and brought in inferior quality goods.
I bought the PC Organic Biologique brand baby spinach and as I reach into the container to make a smoothie I notice a large green bug with 4 legs. Absolutely disgusting, I recommend you take all of them off the shelves and increase the accuracy of your quality assurance division. Or perhaps create a quality assurance division as this is not okay,
We have been struggling to buy a patio set for 2 months. I am beyond frustrated. Each time we go to the country village road location in Calgary, AB the display is out and advertised as on sale and they tell us they have none in stock, no more is coming and they are refusing to sell us the display set. Yet when I have called other locations, they have none in stock and they have already sold the display set. This has been going on for two months. And for two months we have left our name and numbers for them to call us when more are in stock. This is ridiculous. The manager told me today that “it’s the beginning of the season” yet other locations told me they are not receiving anymore as it’s the end of the season. All we want is to just be able to buy this patio set. I am to the point I don’t even want to shop with superstore at all anymore due to the shitty customer service I have experienced.
Not impressed with the super store at all in west kelowna BC, the staff are treated horrible! I over heard one associate named Leslie yelling at a younger associate in a very in appropriate manner! When the younger associate tried to talk this (supervisor / manager) I’m guessing actually told this associate to shut up in front of all to see ! Is this how you train your staff? This is not the first time I have witnessed super store treating their employees like this either! There’s a lot of snarky ness and belittling to their staff! Someone needs to reevaluate management in this store or at least go see with their own eyes how it’s being managed! I did tell one of their staff to report to hr as this is actually against the law in Canada to be treated in such mannerisms!
I am so frustrated with superstore during this pandemic. Have me stand in line for 1/2 hour to pick up a prescription. They claim that people are taking advantage by saying they are picking up a prescription when they are not. I have NO cart and no bags, do u think I’m shopping? Other major chains have 2 lines, 1 for shopping & 1 for pharmacy, they seem to do fine! Come on superstore u can do better than that!!!!
During a pandemic, I was under the impression that when you are going through the checkout line, the cashier is supposed to wait until the person at the end has packed their groceries before ringing the next person through. It has happened to me on more than one occasion where I am still packing my groceries and already the person behind me is rung through. This has happened at two Superstores in Edmonton; the one on 51st Ave and the one in Heritage. It does not help the situation to rush shoppers through the checkout line especially when it’s a pandemic!
I’m not very impressed with your lack of respect for in person shoppers. Why is it that online shoppers are more important? Do I pay less? Why must I dodge your staff, walk in front of you without so much as excuse me? Why am I told you’re doing me a favor taking my money? I get no discounts, no special privileges, and pay the same prices. How is it that I don’t deserve to be respected in your stores?
I am writing to enquire if Superstore has considered opening a store in South West London, Ontario. I really enjoy shopping at Superstore, but your London locations are at least a 40 minute car journey from the South London area. The population density in this area would warrant your consideration.
I am not sure if someone is reading these comments and finding any solutions for that, but still wanna share my visit at Superstore in Edmonton at 50st and 137 Ave. I went for an item in the flyer and couldn’t find it. Then tried to find someone for help but all in vain. I went to customer service and ask for the product. She called the department and told me that it’s not available. I requested her to provide me with some substitute even “NONAME” which normally I always get on my express orders.
She roundly refused and said we never do substitute. I requested a manager as I urgently need one and I got another lady “later on I came to know that she is NOT a manager. She was rude enough to talk and told me that we never substitute. I told her that I can show you that how many times I got substitute products. But she refused saying it’s NOT a policy. ITS WORTH MENTIONING HERE THAT THE PRICE DIFFERENCE WAS $2 only. I was contesting because they always substitute my order when they don’t have the products. Finally, I called the store manager. Despite all my saying he didn’t accepted that super store substitute product when they don’t have especially flyer items. Though he confirmed that the lady talked to me earlier as manager WAS NOT A MANAGER, so mean even they lay to customers and hide there designations. She even don’t have name badge.
I would say never to to Super store at Clairview Edmonton at 50st.
I went to Superstore on St Anne’s road with the intent to buy the steel patio table and chairs advertised for $399 and discounted cost for PC members. I was unable to locate a salesperson in the area, went to customer service who used loud speaker to have someone go to area. Walked back and waited. About 5 minutes a woman came to assist…at least I thought she was going to assist. It was clear from the get go she didn’t want to sell the item. I question if there was delivery and she advised there wasn’t. I asked how big the boxes would be as we had a car (charger). She stress the box would be quite big as the chairs were one piece. I will have a larger vehicle available on Tuesday and asked if I could pay for it and pick it up Tuesday. She said no as they have no room to store. I questioned this answer as I know the store has pick up and I saw it advertised on website which listed delivery or pickup. She advised the online had nothing to with this store…would come from another place. I then asked if she could tell me how many she had in stock. I didn’t want to waste time coming here on Tues if the store had non in stock. She sighed…started walking and said she could check but by then may have another shipment. It was clear she didn’t want me to purchase the set. I told her to forget it and I left. I have always received good service at this store .. this was a real disappointment.
I just shopped at the RCSS on Steeles in Brampton and encountered two problems that should not have happened. The first was I bought a bag of pricey popcorn in the health foods section and did not realize the expiry date was December 2019!! I had opened it and eaten some before realizing why it tasted so bad. I usually check dates on products but honestly didn’t think this gourmet popcorn would be so old. Yuck. Do they not check their product dates ??
Next at the self serve checkout I was waiting for my turn when I was waved to a register. I asked if they cleaned it between customers and she said only every half hour or hour. I said what’s the point of that after dozens of people have touched it. Then she said I could do it my self and she was too busy but I said that’s not my job and she was literally just standing there. That was this afternoon (March 24) around 3 not that I expect much will be done. Other superstores are on the ball so I’m not criticizing all superstores but I think this one has lazy people. It’s just not as neat and organized as other stores that I’ve been in, and sanitary wise during a third wave of covid I find some of their practices inexcusable.
