About Orange County Convention CenterÂ
Among the top five convention centers in the United States is the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) located in Orlando, Florida. This state-of-the-art venue is spread across 7 million sq ft and boasts of about 2.1 million sq ft of exhibition space. Other highlights include the 74 meeting rooms, a 160-seat lecture hall, two 92,000 sq ft hall for general assembly, a 2,643-seat theater and eight food courts. At the time of this writing, it was the second largest convention center in the US after McCormick Place in Chicago.
Opened in the year 1983, the convention center had undergone several renovations over the years bringing new and modern facilities. It is owned and operated by the Orange County Government. Each year Orange County Convention Center hosts more than 230 events, welcoming 14,00,000+ attendees. There are large exhibitions, conventions and shows on electronics, fashion, food, automobile and other industries. Located near to the International Drive, the busy commercial area in Orlando, Orange County Convention Center can be easily accessed by bus, taxi and trolleys. Lynx bus connects the venue with connections to the Orlando International Airport and Downtown Orlando. For those driving on their own automobile, you will find three parking lots with accessible parking option as well. There are about 6,200 on-site parking spaces. Additionally, you will find plenty of parking options within the District. You can pre-book your parking online to avoid last minute rush. The OCCC accepts major credit cards for payment of parking fee. Accessible parking is available on first-come, first-served basis.
