About National Exhibition & Convention Center
The NECC, which is short for National Exhibition & Convention Center, is one of the world’s largest exhibition centers that first opened in the year 2015. Situated in Qingpu District, Shanghai, China, the NECC is dubbed as the largest exhibition complex in the country, spread across 500,000 m² area. There is a 400,000 m² indoor exhibition hall and 100,000 m² outdoor area. The venue regularly hosts exhibitions, tradeshows and fairs welcoming millions of visitors from around the globe. The stunning complex boasts of 13 large halls, 60 conference rooms, a hotel, commercial plaza and office buildings. There are also several restaurants, dining areas and shopping options within the complex. Built by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Shanghai Municipal Government, the NECC has an impressive design, with a “four-leaf clover” on the exterior, mixing several Chinese elements. The building is open on most days from 10am to 5pm.
Visitors can easily reach the venue from the Hongqiao Airport or Hongqiao Railway Station which is connected by the metro. There are shuttles available from airport and hotels during events and expo. If entering the venue from North Entrance (333 Songze Avenue), alight at the Zhuguang Road Station (metro line 17), if coming on West Entrance, you will need to alight at East Xujing Station (metro line 2). The East Entrance and South Entrance are well connected by bus and taxis. There are several parking lots spread across the complex. You can access the venue map available online showing the location of exhibition calls, the parking lots, the lost and found center, VIP lounge, business center and media lounge.
