About Metra
Metra is a commuter rail service in Chicago, US that opened in the year 1984. It is owned by Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and currently has 11 lines connecting to 241 stations. Annually, the rail system serves more than 90 million commuters in Chicago’s Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane and McHenry counties.
Metra’s lines consist of BNSF Railway Line, Heritage Corridor, Metra Electric District, Milwaukee District/North Line, Milwaukee District/West Line, North Central Service, Rock Island District, SouthWest Service, Union Pacific /North Line, Union Pacific/Northwest Line and Union Pacific/West Line. As for fares, you have single journey tickets, ten-ride fares, weekend pass and monthly pass. Senior citizens and those with disabilities enjoy reduced fares.
Tickets can be purchased through vending machines at stations. You can also use your credit card to purchase ten-ride tickets and monthly passes online. Visit the website to check schedule, route map, or other information. For queries on tickets, cancellation, parking, lost and found items, reach the Metra customer service.
Why is that your fates keep going up, but the service Metra provides is appallingly mediocre, with none of the promised improvents like new trains or WiFi, or any of the other features taken for granted by the rest of the civilized world. I will tell you why: provincial, conservative, corrupt and incompetent management that operates in its own interest and not for the public interest. A pox on you.
