Rufus Hibbett founded Hibbett Sports in 1945 as Dixie Supply Co. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, it was renamed Hibbett Sporting Goods in 1969. The e-commerce wing of the company was launched in 2017. Today, there are about 1025 retail stores of Hibbett Sports across 32 states.
