I am not expecting any response from you, however i am very angry. Having sent you a complaint by letter and also by email and having no apology or indeed a reimbursement , I have had an email message from you wanting to know my thoughts on my plant. Well as I have said before I was very disappointed, no self respecting Nursery would have sent such a disgraceful specimen out. The offending plant was a Cistus Sunset , I was expecting a nice shrubby plant but instead got a 20 inch tall plant on a twisted bare stem, absolutely unusable. My Order number was 601430592.
I ordered a cistus sunset a little while ago. When it arrived I was very upset and angry. It is 20 inches tall on a very twisted bare trunk, not at all the shrubby plant that I should have expected..The order number is 601430592. I wrote to head office to complain and they have not even had the courtesy to reply. I am elderly and will not find it easy to return. Do you have any suggestions.
Purchased 2 large (in excess 120cm) osmanthus burkwoodii at total £126:89, arrived 40 cm to soil level 65 cm to pot base, generally got run around on chat line. Total rip off would recommend avoiding the company!!
Absolutely appalling customer service! Cutting and pasting a standard response on their “chat” line is not good enough. Re-pot and water will not revive a plant that had its new centre leaves very badly damaged. It is patronising and an insult to any gardener’s intelligence. I can’t say all of my plants have been damaged or even unhealthy but one very expensive plant is enough. I believe they receive so many complaints that that is the reason they are not answering their email and have no phones as they would be constantly engaged.
The people on the “chat” lines obviously have no gardening experience as even an idiot could see in the photos the damage on my plant was not able to be recovered especially not by giving it a new pot and water. All I want is the healthy plant that I thought I had paid for.
I find the whole non customer service totally bizarre, and looking at the amount of genuine complaints I’m surprised they’ve allowed to get away with it. Shame!

Never received my order. There is no other way of contacting them according as they are an ‘online business only’. No Phone number. Their help.gardeningexpress.co.uk URL is not working, and their ‘support chat’ is going in circles and you never get to a real person. Apart from writing a letter, yes a letter. You cannot get in contact. After some digging around on the web I found a phone number +44 124 542 3951 – this is now disconnected?! Also, 08448 044 253 is disconnected. Although the email I send does not get rejected. They also get no response.
Order #601096280 total order £177.00 within 2-3 days found out some plants not as good as expected tried to find the contact details of Gardening express no e -mail address or phone number checked endlessly on the web site the messages have no free text and the messages service also not available most of the time When we are working any way during weekend I manages to messages and as per request uploaded the plant photo order details and other parameter needed I got the message that was too late not in 2 weeks time when it took more than 2 weeks to get hold of somebody on the message .
AS we work so cant go to actual garden center for the plant and till now most of the time online nursery experience has been good
I did’nt ask any refund but only replacement of the plant s which were dead or near dead plant out of total ~35 I requested replacement or the 5 which were almost dead on arrival I just couldn’t contact the Gardening Express
This is really bad practice to make customers impossible to communicate I love my plants and do take care of them It was awful to see the dead plant and the espresso from the company I would never recommend anybody to use this web site neither I will use it my self
Appalling company. On Monday I received my gardenia plant which had been purchased as a gift. It arrived with dead and browning leaves that I’ve already had to pick off but more importantly only half a plant. Half had been trimmed away before shipping to presumably get rid of the dead. According to the description it was supposed to arrive in bud ready to bloom. I’ll be lucky if it blooms next year! It’s taken 3 days of constant Tweeting, messaging and using their chat facility to come up with being told plant it in the ground for a month to see if it survives. They didn’t take into account that it was a gift that had been purchased and what was I supposed to do, give them half a gardenia with browning leaves and say gardening express say plant it in the ground for a month and see if it survives. They even tried to insult my intelligence by saying that I’d left it still in the nursery pot. Of course I had I’d been waiting for a response for 3 days as to know what I’d got to do with it!!! Appalling customer care however it seems I’m not alone. There are a few people on Twitter which have been delivered a half dead or even in some cases a fully dead plant and Gardening Express have refused to do anything to rectify the situation. If your plants arrive in poor condition and not as described they don’t care and won’t give a refund or replacement!
Two of the Acers we ordered and which were delivered in 2020 have failed. I contacted your ‘Chat line’ today and did receive an apology and offering to replace the failed shrubs. The link they offered would not open.
I have taken photographs as requested, which I am keen to forward, but I don’t seem able to progress my request for the replacement Acers.
I ordered a clematis to be delivered to HP7 9JP as a present its now too late please refund full amount. Your reviews are bad I now see why you take the money deliver nothing. Full refund ASAP. Will never use you again.
I wish I had seen these reviews before ordering from Gardening Expresss. Nearly 5 weeks since placing the order, nothing has been delivered. They dont communicate or allow you to claim a refund. Please do not use this company
They sold me a dead bare rooted tree and now won’t respond to the tickets other than to delete them without any contact, the 5 year guarantee is worthless.
Been, charged for an order money taken from account, but my order has been cancelled apparently, so no goods,, I’ve messaged them numerous times, no reply,, no phone number to contact, shambles,, only thing express about them is how quickly they infuriate customers.
Gardening express is the worst garden business I have ever dealt with. They sell rotting and dying plants and don’t give a damn about their customers. They just want your money. Save yourself the disappointment of their disgraceful third rate products and their shoddy customer service by never buying from this cowboy outfit. I placed an order on the 14/5/19 and although received an email confirming £60 payment made, I have went into the Gardening Express my orders, only to discover my items have yet to be dispatched. Can you please elaborate.
Re my order 600249978. Received 5 very poorly plants. The box they were sent in was basket damaged, plants in disarray & upside down. Looked like they had been thrown about& had item put on top. Your reply was sorry but we don’t think the plants are damaged ? have now taken case to resolver. I will not allow you to get away with this.
No news about my order number 60025094 of 5.5.19£119.87 paid confirmation received but no further progress and no success in contacting anyone in any form did the ticket but no reply

All my emails have been ignored after spending £140 and most of my plants arrived in a very sorry state, due to being All squashed and cramped together Beautiful Orchids arrive too late for Mother’s Day I had to go out and buy more and when they did arrive blooms buds petals leaves were all damaged there was that much cellotape used we could hardly cut through it and it was stuck to the foliage and damaged it! I sent emails after emails requesting a phone call but all I get is follow the procedure on our customers support and we will issue you with a ticket and get back to you within 2 Days but it doesn’t happen! I am really disappointed as this is the first time I’ve used this company! I just wish I had of read all the reviews first!
Re order number 600209212 – we placed & paid for thIs order on the 26th February & to date I have received no response from you advising this order has been dispatched. Please can you respond by return as to when this order will be dispatched as I think this is far too long for this plant to be dispatched.

Hi,
I’m emailing re my Order No 600171688 (#152951) for 3 Pernettya Shrub Plants in Berry. Only 2 plants were in berry but not the White one. You requested pictures of the plants I received and it showed only Two in Berry which was sent to you. You have not replied to my emails asking if you would be sending a replacement or offer me the refund for one of the plants but just ignored my emails.
Can you not deal with this issue as I have just spent nearly £10 on these plants and feel very disappointed and let down.
Hoping for a reply otherwise I will not buy anymore plants from Gardening Express.
