A member of staff in your chingford branch was verbally aggressive and extremely rude. Costco had taken two payments from me for goods that I had purchased as apparently the first did not go through but they couldnt produce a void transaction receipt for the first but I had showed the the debit together with the authorisation code – Tommy the staff member then told me I was ‘stupid’ that by showing him the debit on my internet banking did not prove that purchase had been made. So when I showed him the identical transaction made in the same way did that also prove I didn’t pay? Maybe Costco should accept cash only then there would be no issues!!
Living in Canada I always did my major shopping at Cosco, well trained staff who know their products. I am now living in UK and used Croyden Cosco…I have been to Cosco Croyden several times and noticed they are just not trained very well. When I needed to know something I found the staff just did not know or understand so I phoned my Cosco in Canada to find out what I needed to know. Recently I bought a large screen TV and a wall mounting helped by a polite Cosco employee. I hired someone who attatched the mounting to the wall and found when attaching the mounting to the tv we had been sold the wrong mounting for that TV! Two hours driving, payment for electrician, holes drilled into the brick walls then disassembling everything re packing a further two hours driving to return everything to the store. I will not be renewing my membership and am warning everyone I know in all my groups and friends to steer clear of Cosco. Staff are good polite people but have been badly trained. Cosco staff and the buying public deserve better.
I am disgusted that my husband tried to exchange a faulty air bed at Costco at Milton Keynes and was told we had to renew our membership to exchange the product. Since when are your rights affected by a membership. We do not shop at Costco anymore so why would we want to pay another years membership to get an exchange or refund. The product is faulty. This is the second air bed we have had that is faulty. For what it is worth it is not worth shopping at Costco if your rights are different as a consumer. We have wasted petrol driving over to the store after phoning and being told we could get an exchange and then treated like this. DISGUSTING customer care!
Was told to renew as an executive member and they would pay back 2% on purchases and if the following year I was not paid £60 they would make up the difference so the following renewal was free, got served by the same guy 1 year on at renewal and he denied that was the case and made up the difference to downgrade me so I did not get my renewal for free I got downgraded and paid for the privilege. Not only that I had to que 30 minutes to renew and 30 minutes to pay for my shop and 10 minutes que just to get out of the store.
Then everything falls off the trolley as there car park is one giant rumble strip and they don’t offer carrier bags for the smaller items.
Legally they have no right to check my shopping once I have paid for it because I legally own it.
Not bothering renewing next year as the savings are not worth the aggravation.

We went into your Chingford branch and saw a Canadian spa and Gazebo for about £2300. Would it be possible to give me the dimensions of the boxed ready to ship sizes of this item/items so we can get a price to ship it to France from our freight forwarder? I did phone the store but they gave me the actual set up size.

I am a member of Thurrock Costco, which is by and large a friendly helpful store. However it seems that this year on chatting to some of the staff that no Christmas music is allowed in case it upsets certain religions. Seems very odd to me and offensive as I am friends many Muslims who cannot understand this either. Is it company policy or just a localised issue with a new manager . . . .If its company policy maybe you should remove all christmas type goods from the store as well.
Only two responses, (Dec 2012 & Aug 2013) mine the third (May 2014), Mr White you raise a point but your wasting your time. Costco will not answer you! they never respond to any complaints. I have made complaints at the store I use a number of times and gave up trying. They do not want to know at all, they do change goods without question and 99% products and goods are excellent but their response services is pathetic! This little review service was hidden away, only found by perusing, this review might be added to in 2015!
