About Swappa
Swappa is an online marketplace for buying and selling mobile devices. The company was founded by Ben Edwards in 2010. Apparently over $5,000,000 worth phones are sold on Swappa each month. On the platform, sellers don’t have to pay any fees for listing. Only buyers are asked to pay a small fee whichย is included in the sale price. Swappa says it only lists “gently used, ready to activate devices”. There are no blacklisted or blocked devices as well. All listings are reviewed and approved by staff.
To begin your purchase on Swappa, you can browse by brand or network carrier. Besides smartphones, you also have tablets, Chromebooks and MacBooks. You can pick the desired device and filter results through color, storage or price. The platform lists sellers for a particular model and you can pick the lowest of all. You also see the seller’s profile, location and color of the device. Additionally, you can see the shipping details. Most products are shipped within two business days. Currently, the Swappa services are only available for US customers. As for return/refund, the policies depend entirely on the sellers. I recently bought an iPhone 6s, no where in the description did it say that the camera was damaged. When I sent an email to the seller he acted like he had no idea,thereโs no way that he wouldnโt know. Took the phone to Verizon they could fix it for $60 instead of me sending it back I asked him to pay half of that he told me he could pay $15. This is been such an inconvenience for me, now I have to send It back and start searching for another phone for my daughter. I’m very disappointed on this whole transaction and no support from the seller.
