About Spirit Airlines
Spirit Airlines is known for its dirt-cheap flight prices. This ultra-low-cost carrier has gained a reputation for providing decent service at a very low cost. This is the reason behind the unparalleled popularity of Spirit Airlines among the masses, so much so that it has become the eighth largest commercial airline in North America. Spirit caters to all of the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The airline has multiple bases located in Baltimore, Atlantic City, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago-O’Hare, Las Vegas, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando. Headquartered in Florida, this airline has come a long way from being just a trucking company during the 1960s. Founded in the year 1983, Spirit Airline focuses on making air travel cheaper and accessible to most people. Spirit Airlines is the first ultra-low-carrier to provide high-speed Wi-Fi on their planes. As of today, Spirit has around 157 in-service aircraft in its fleet. The most recent Spirit Fleet plan announced in February 2020 laid out its intent of including another 293 aircraft by the year 2027. Currently, Spirit Airlines operates more than 600 flights each day.
