A Turkish multi-cultural fashion brand, LC Waikiki was founded by three French entrepreneurs. The company started as a wholesale brand and was initially registered and established in Paris. The company started garnering attention with its unique t-shirt and sweatshirt designs. In 1977, Tema Teksil, who was connected to the Taha Group and was also the licensor and producer for LC Waikiki, brought its worldwide rights. With the final purchase by Taha Group, the name of the brand was changed to LC Waikiki Retailing Services. Seven percent of the company’s share was transferred to George Amouyal, the founder of the company, from whom the royalties were purchased. Though the company started growing out of Istanbul, the vision remains broad. LC Waikiki strives to become one of the most successful clothing brands in Europe.
