About Simply Piano
Simply Piano is a popular piano learning app developed by Tel-Aviv based JoyTunes. The company launched the app for Android and iOS in 2011. Tens of thousands of music teachers around the globe have registered on the platform. Each week more than 1 million songs are learned through the app. The award winning app requires a membership for full-fledged learning.
There are courses available for different levels and music genres. Suitable for all ages, through the app you can learn piano step by step, right from reading the sheet music to playing with both hands. Through the device’s mic the app will recognize the note you are playing. If using a keyboard, you can connect through USB MIDI.
New users can start with a free 7-day trial before upgrading to a premium account. You can subscribe for 3 months to one year. There are currently 27 different courses divided into two streams: Soloist and Chords. With Soloist, you can read sheet music, improve coordinate and technique as your play your favourite song. With Chords, you can will see the chords for most popular songs.
Under Chords, you have separate sections like Pop Chords I, Pop Chords II/III, Chord Styling I/II/III, Blue Chords and Jazz Chords I/II. Under Soloist, the curriculum includes Essentials II, Essentials III, Classical I, Intermediate I/II/III/IV, Bohemian Rhapsody, Pre-Advanced I and Taste of Bach I/II. On Simply Music, you have a large song library. There are songs from classical, blues to top chart hits. While playing, you can choose different from different songs and even set the speed to slow down. The app also incorporates touch courses that use 3D touch which turns devices into on-screen keyboards.
Existing users can view and manage their subscription by signing into their account. The application is set to auto-renew. You have the option to turn it off from your account dashboard. For those who are just starting, you can set your experience level, goals and much more. Further you can set personalize exercises to tailor to your level. For those who do not want to play the entire song, you have 5-minute workouts to develop your skills on sight-reading and rhythm patterns.
Payment for subscriptions can be made within the app using credit/debit card or digital wallet. All purchases come with a 30-day refund policy. I sign up for the 7 days free trial, and want to do the monthly subscription but I just noticed that £119 have been debited from my account. I am not happy about this, I need refund.
Do not purchase this, I only thought I was purchasing the 3 months package just to see if my daughter would use within 3 months. But little did I know it was going to repeat charge every 3 months without letting me know they have taken money out of my account.
In Practice Mode, with Tempo at 85% or 95%. Only a Section of a piece is repeated. This is very frustrating. I don’t want to be cut short with an Awesome. Can you allow the full piece to be played at the reduced tempt. I can understand a system change takes time but I bet many Simply Piano students would thank you. Also, please more music for the Senior 60+ students.
Went onto free trial and now £83.99 has been taken from my account this is not something I wanted or was notified about.
I signed up for the seven day free trial and in error forgot to stop it. I thought it might be possible to pay monthly but I’ve been charged £104 which I’m not happy about.
