Blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives! I am from Mpophomeni township and work for a school in KwaDulela Location. In our school we had a shortage of sanitary pads for female learners. We have been seeking for donation from businesses nearby for our learners and Shorprite Store from Mpophomeni was one amongst the organisations that did us wonders! The staff members from that store donated sanitary pads to our learner worth a thousand and more from their pockets. We are so grateful as the school and truly appreciate such coming from stores at our township.
I would like to compliment Shoprite Checkers for the stunning marketing promotions. The delivery people on scooters with Christmas father suites are absolutely out of the book. the shop in Kolonnade mall Montana which had a total make over a short while ago is fantastic. The senior people are always visible. There are many people at till points. 10 out of 10 for the fantastic look and feel.
I wanted to buy sanitary pads which were advertised on national television at R5 for a pack of 8. I went Checkers St John’s in Pinetown, KZN and was told that they didn’t have them and that I should go to the hyperstore at The Pavilion. I no longer have a car as it was stolen so I have to rely on a friend to take me around. We went to Checkers at The Pavilion and they too didnt have them. I’m confused as to why the ad campaign has run a few times and the stock is not available.

At Shopprite Usave Terminus in Newcastle I got a problem while I trying to shop my grocery, I came in at 17:53 and then I picked up my items fast because I saw that was lately they want to close the store, when I came to the till I spoke with the security he shows me which till was opened I went there. Cashier Nelisiwe she treats me wrong she asked me why I came at that time because it late she send me to another Cashier she said she was tired I join the line at that till with a Five customers I spent more than 15 there and I lose my transport, please help me I don’t know why she sent me to another Cashier while she was free. I didn’t report that to the store manager because I was rushing to my transport.
As a customer while shopping at the Gezina shoprite branch in Pta, found myself being treated very hostile while trying to purchase some yoghurt. I was told to move my cart because there are other customers. The very big Shoprite African man was truly being a bully and definitely a complete rasist towards me. I am a 64 year elderly woman and I battle to walk due to a knee injury, therefore I needed my cart to lean on. The space arround me and the cart was limited due to Shoprite being so full. I would truly suggest that all customers should be treated with respect and consideration, and that reverse racism must be stopped in all work places.
I deposited money(R1250.00) at Daku road Shoprite Port Elizabeth on the 8thoctober and I kept my slip, someone withdraw the money in New Bryton Shoprite PE and it is not the person the money was for .I went to Shoprite to find out who took the money , after the person the money belong to called me and told me that money was withdrawn .The answer I got was that ,they cannot tell me the name of the person who took my money”. I was asked to go to police station and file a case. Shoprite should do enough to get details of people taking money, cameras to monitor and other necessary checks should be in place to deal with situations like this.
Im really impressed with the customer service given by the best cashier of the week at Shoprite Arcadia called GONTSE MALEMA . She treat people with love n respect , she doesnt discriminate whether you are black or white person , she make sure that everyone she serves leaves her till point smiling .GONTSE MALEMA deserves to become a manager because her attitude towards us says it all . That young girl is going somewhere with Shoprite , HELP her to become something big in Shoprite cause she deserves it # SHOUT OUT TO GONTSE MALEMA @Shoprite Arcadia Pretoria
Yesterday I visited the Shoprite Southfield branch and was shocked at firstly the service I received and secondly disgusted by the look of the shop.
I went to the Money Market counter to pay an electricity bill. There was one till open and this also serve people wanting to buy Lotto tickets. I stood in the queue for 15 minutes because the customer ahead of me was purchasing about 10 Lotto tickets. The teller proceeded to type in each number and then staple each receipt to the Lotto ticket. When I finally got to the counter, I asked if they couldn’t have more than one till open . He then said that I could have paid the account at the till. Nowhere in the shop is this advertised. He wasn’t particularly concerned about how long the customers needed to wait.
Secondly, when I got into the shop, I found it difficult to move my basket trolley in the shop because there were boxes with merchandise on both sides of the aisles. The shop is very small and now it just looks DISGUSTING and UNTIDY. I’ve lived in the area for many years and its convenient for me to pop in on my way home. I was utterly disgusted to see what the store looked liked. Instead of goods being on the shelves, they were simply in open boxes on the floor. Customers were trying to avoid bumping into each other in the narrow aisles.
When I asked the manager why the shop was so UNTIDY and why there were open boxes everywhere, he said that they had taken stock.
However, I feel that something needs to be done. I will NOT be visiting that store again.
So the R350 grant is temporarily unavailable at most stores but the people are all coming to Shoprite and crowding the manager and some even swearing her when she is politely trying to explain what is the problem and no one is protecting her and that really irritated me. She handled the situation very well though but why they don’t go and swear at the Post office manager? They taking advantage because she is young. I think Shoprite must advertise that R350 is not available in their shops.
Hi.
I’m really fed up about the service of the cashiers at money market at Harrismith branch. To them its more important to finish their conversation than to help the customer on the queue, this happened to me on many occasions even today, I even walked away because I was standing there like a lost person, so my question if shoprite really provide customer service training to its employees.
I have always stopped at my local Shoprite to get few things that my wife calls me to buy on my way from work and the Shoprite in Gezina is my favourate as its not busy and always clean.today was amazing to shop there,i was looking for condensed milk and for some reason I did not think it would be in sugar isle.i greeted a gentleman that was talking to another and the one that was listening his name is Koketso he greeted back I asked what I was looking for and Koketso offered to show me and he took me to an isle and pointed to me the condensed milk.this guy is friendly, helpfull and attentive he saved me time and for this I would like to thank Pioneer Foods and Shoprite for employing such an individual.we need more of Koketso`s in Shoprite 10/10 for that service.
Good Day
I visited Shoprite Westridge Centre in Wespoort Lane Westridge Mitchell’s Plain. I was very disappointed at the service. I was standing in the money market queue. When it was my turn to be helped the Cashier did not acknowledge me. The Supervisor was standing next to her and they were having a hearty conversation and ignoring me. when I asked why I was not being helped the Supervisor apologised and said that she thought the Cashier was helping me. the Cashier then proceeded to help me without acknowledging me. Not once did she look at me and when I said to her that she could look at me when talking to me she said I’m sorry. When she was done with the transaction she gave my slip and said thank you without looking at me. I will not shop at that store again.
Hi I live in Polokwane, both our shoprite here never have enough stock which I find ridiculous…..
For example at the moment there is a liquor specials but the savanna is always finished within two days, and one wonders where is more stock? And what is more puzzling is that it is still advertised as if they have stock same goes for 5kg chicken wings and drum sticks.
Here in Polokwane we don’t have price check why?when other places have?I find this unfair and misleading. I once asked one of the managers for a price check and she said it no longer exists how when it exists in other places?
I’m really looking forward to your response I’m very unhappy with our Polokwane shoprites.
HUMILIATING EXPERIENCE @ COSMOS BRANCH PARCEL COUNTER
Good day,
About two hours ago we walked into the Cosmos branch and were warmly welcomed by a cheerful young man who handed us special promotions pamphlets – only to be humiliated by a rude nameless parcel counter attendant.
There was a muddy splash of water on the counter top which made me lift up my parcels since she did not bother to wipe it off the counter first. Then I told her that she can put our few parcels together as I and my partner were together. Out of the blue she answered, “do you think I dont know that you are together”. At that,I foolishly chose to keep quite until again she said to my partner,”your parcels will make my chair dirty. Since we did not ask her to put them on her chair we realized that she was purely looking for a way to humiliate us and I then took the matter to a lady Supervisor (Mkwanazi) who listened and without a word, went alone to the attendant. After shopping I had to look for her to find out if she made any follow ups and yes, she said she told the parcel counter attendant to take good care of customers. I think she just got away with it as lightly as that !! Dont you really think that the young man distributing pamphlets or one of your cleaners would do better. You probably have the wrong person at the right place.
DID WE OFFEND ANYONE TO DESERVE THIS KIND OF HUMILIATION?. THANK YOU Shoprite.
