About Rolex
Rolex is a premium wristwatch brand that was founded in the year 1905. Founded by Hans Wilsdorf in London, the watchmaking company currently employs some 6,000 people and has presence in over 100 countries. The company designs and produces in-house all the components of its watches, including case, dial, bezels, movements and bracelet. The steel in Rolex watches is made from the expensive 904L steel. The company even controls the production of their own gold. And every diamond or precious stone on a Rolex watch is hand-selected. Rolex is a major sponsor of events in golf, sailing, tennis and motor sport.
Rolex has its own international Research & Development and four manufacturing units in Switzerland. The Plan-les-Ouates site is where all the development and production activities take place. This is where the 18 ct gold alloys used for its watches are made. The Bienne site is the production facility for the movements. And the Chêne-Bourg site manufactures the dials, among others.
You can visit the Rolex website to be blown away by the feature rich models. You can further filter out your favourite watch with size, material (silver/gold/platinum case), bezels, dial or function (date/two time-zones/yachting/diving). Some of the popular series found include Oyster Perpetual, Lady-DateJust, PearlMaster, DateJust, Sky-Dweller, Milgauss, Explorer, Explorer II, Submariner, Sea-Dweller, Yacht-Master, Yacht-Master II, Cosmograph Daytona, Cellini Time, Celini Date and Cellini Dual Time. All Rolex watches are tested for extremes, from the highest mountains to the deepest oceans. Rolex watches have to pass more than 20 different drop tests. All Rolex watches come with a five-year guarantee. Watches that undergo servicing are even offered a two-year Service Guarantee.
Only official Rolex retailers are allowed to sell and showcase the models. You can locate a store nearest to your address here. If you are looking for service centers to replace or repair your watch, click here. For more information or queries on store locations, warranty, repair or others reach the Rolex customer service.
I am appalled and disgusted by Rolex Australia. I hand delivered my two time pieces to Roles Australia in Melbourne. I was sent a quote for time and cost – 12 weeks and A$2500 each. That was back on 29th July 2022. After much chasing of Rolex Australia, whereby phones weren’t answered and emails ignored for about 6 months, I finally got through to “Molly”, who chased around. I was informed on the 27th March that one watch was done, but the other would be “…about a week or two as it is booked in for quality control.” 19th April I called again and was told it’d be ready end of April, beginning of May. I have called again today, and apart from the phone number in their signature block no longer being active, when I did get through to Rolex, the receptionist hung up on me, instead of transferring me to Molly. I had to call back again, was put on hold with horrific white noise, only for Molly to inform me that my watches “…are booked in for quality control with the workshop manager and will be a couple of weeks.”
This behaviour is outrageous. What is meant to be a luxury brand that is second to none is appalling. And to think, they will have the audacity to charge me luxury goods prices for what has been a horrendously dire customer experience. Rolex must do something about the Australian team’s utter laissez-faire arrogance.
Just over 3 years ago i had my Submariner repaired at a cost of €1640. A couple of weeks ago, it stopped working, the problem seems to be the winder and i took it back to our local service centre to be repaired. Yesterday they quoted me €1260 to repair it which includes a complete overhaul, including replacing the hands , crown, etc. These were replaced 3 years ago. The attitude is take it or leave it.
Hi Rolex, for more than 1 year, I have been traveling the whole singapore to place my interest for a submariner. Despite my monthly follow up with your retailer , I still cannot manage to buy a single one. But then to say, I still seeing new models circulating in the used or gray market over pricing from 100%to 300%. I would not mind to pick of of them if your watch is that price worthy. If so, kindly increase your msrp to match the gray or used market, so I can have more chance to get over the retail and assuring it is genuinely authentic.
I had my GMT Master II (purchased in 2002) from Tourneau NYC recently serviced by Tourneau / Butcherer, for which some parts were replaced, movement related and optionally my “Coke” Bezel insert, which had a price of $58, which I felt was a bit inexpensive, based on prices for the exact item, exceeding $400, on Chrono24 and sold privately. Does Tourneau / Butcherer use AUTHENTIC Rolex parts ? I asked, for which they said yes, but anyone could say yes. Are they “inexpensive” due to them keeping the original part that they replaced ? Meaning, If I had removed the original bezel insert, and sent it for service, would the part still have been $58 or a price that resembles Chrono24 ? I am a bit concerned the part is not authentic.
We have purchased 2 Rolex previously in Canada. What the state of Rolex customer service is now is sad. Dealers taking non refundable deposits of 25% down to be on a waiting list on the off chance they may get the watch you want. They then say its likely 3 -4 years wait. No dealer has inventory (I understand supply chain issues but its sad the customer service and sales are so bad in line with that to support through this shortage period).
I am in the market for 2 watches. A date just for my wife and a Pro watch for myself. I was just told by a dealer 5 hours away head office won’t let them talk to people now unless they are in person. This means that the 4 closest dealers who have “sold out with deposits” for 3 years so won’t talk to me and now I have to drive over 5 hours to even be considered to be sold a watch. Meanwhile in my travels I see watches in various places in US and Europe second hand resellers that are fully stocked with New Rolex that they work deals with dealers to get. These resellers jack the price, advertise as new and laugh all the way to the bank meanwhile those of us trying to find a new Rolex through official channels can’t because the dealers are selling to these groups and/or sticking to the head office mandate of meeting in person. Its a horrible experience now and seriously tarnishing the Rolex brand. I’m now so frustrated and to the point of saying I’m done with Rolex despite the quality and workmanship. Worst experience and definitely customer service and Brand issues. All I want is some help getting these Rolex and tired of official dealers saying “we need to meet in person, we don’t have any inventory, we don’t know if/when we will get the watches you want, we need a deposit to consider you” etc. Rolex please fix these issues and focus on genuine customers again and make the purchasing process easier and more customer friendly. I’m fine waiting but don’t make me chase rainbows with no end.
Rolex you make an incredible watch with incredible quality and care. You create heirlooms and genuine pieces lasting lifetimes. Please fix the customer service piece and make it so its not only movie/sports stars used in marketing who have access to watches and or those second hand dealers.
Is very unfair for customer who want to own a piece of Rolex in Malaysia. Rolex dealers in Malaysia always reserve the Sport model to all the reseller out there. The SA in Boutique always telling consumers no stock available. I’m doubting and curious about it how do we purchase a piece of Rolex if there’s empty stock in the Boutique.
I have contacted 5 Authorised Dealer in Malaysia, the submariner will only be sold to customer that are in the “impression” list. Hence you could only buy the watch by buying others product and they will offer a purchase with purchase option on submariner. This will only benefit the reseller that sells the watch twice the price for new watch condition.
Dear sir,
I had purchased a yacht master 126622 in Mar 2021. I wear the watch daily and I discovered the date of the watch changed nightly 4 – 7 minutes past midnight 12.00. Is this normal for this watch? I did send back this watch to the Rolex service center in Kuala Lumpur to check in last month, but they said they only discovered the watch changed after 2-3 minutes after midnight at their place. For your information, I had a Datejust and Submariner and both of the watches changed date at 12.00 midnight. And why this new watch with the new movement work so badly? Please advise what should I do now?
Very disappointed, worst after sale service ever and completely unexpected from such an entity and one of the leading companies in the industry. My friends Rolex watch leather strap was torn so I bought him a replacement from Dubai on the 23/02/2019 and was clearly communicated that it would be delivered within 2 months. Until now nothing has been received. Many trials were made to contact them for any info but unfortunately with no luck and last one was last week where I visited the branch and the representative told me that nothing can be done and she will consult her manager and revert back to me with a final feedback by maximum 12/06/2019 and still nothing, so now they have my money and I have a Rolex watch with torn strap and more money wasted on a useless product that can’t be fixed by its own people.
To whom it may concern:
Today I visited a few Rolex dealers in Sydney trying to buy or order a Rolex submariner but was told not only that there were none available and that I wouldn’t be able to order one nor put my name down for one. I was told that waiting can be of 3 years but I’m unsure how that waiting works if there is no waiting list.
How can this be possible? Is there any way I can purchase a watch?
Thank you for your assistance,
Best regards,
Cecilia Brieva
I have been searching for a Rolex Submariner watch for last 3 years. I have also registered my name on waiting list in KL shops as well as follow up visits. Same answers are given that there is short of supply and customers need to wait for few years. When I travel overseas in Europe, I have also searched for it in large cities such as Paris, Prague, Vienna, Madrid etc and given same response.
So, my curiosity is why out of sudden a huge supply shortage across the world ? Is this a strategy of Rolex to constraint the supply to make it harder to own ? This is a very disappointing luxury watch company that have gone to this path. A change in senior executive team leadership opting for this approach??
Moreover, I came across Watch Finder shop in Mid Valley, KL selling this model at a 30% higher price tag. It is a brand new watch and seemed to me that some buyers do take this opportunity to make quick bucks.
Look like Rolex is successful in constraining the supply and hence losing potential customers to buy other brands.
Hello, do not worry, even in Switzerland, where is the heart of the company, they are not selling any watches. This is so them trying to remain unreachable, and elegant. Hey cléevers, there is an easier way, increase your prices, and keep on producing…
well the fact that this company does not even care putting a customer service contact number or email is the biggest reason I would never buy this watch….it is a BIG expensive spam….they do not trust the product they produce, hence no contact possibility….
I started searching the preowned sites and found a 2019 Sub 1166610LN by contacting Govberg jewlers,(in business since 1916), it still had 4 1/2 years left on the factory warranty, it was in a AD in Switzerland, the AD shipped it to the AD Govberg who then shiped it to me. The price was over retail for a new $9550.00 and I had to pay $2250.00 over retail. I figured I could wait a few years or more for them to become available if then or just anti up the extra and own one now. So if your waiting for one to become available in the AD you can get to, and your young enough to have many years to wait, thats up to you. Oh I have been researching tie so called waiting list, and it only seems to be a way for the AD to stop you from bugging them…they have established customers who always get first dibs and more likely than not will buy that much sought after Rolex. You might find a Date Just 36 or 38 but the 41’s are hard to come by, also.
Tan, better buy another brand, I also feel frustrated waiting for the new watches even like those not sellable models like Datejust 41mm or Oyster Perpetual 41mm. And also don’t know why still can see a lot of new Rolex watches available in the grey market in Kuala Lumpur. Just don’t know they get the stock from?
How can I buy a new submariner. Green or black diel in stainless steel. Here in UK I contacted lots of official dealers. No one got any stock. Appears like high demand for submariner model. Could you give me some advice.
I understand that there are multiple marketing options for selling Rolex watches, but you are frustrating your customers by not having inventory to purchase. I have telephoned 17 Rolex retailers to try to find a GMT Master II Oystersteel, black and blue bezel Rolex and the best I can do is a waiting list with many people in front of me. I am currently wearing a Breitling, and I am close to purchasing an Omega. Please respond with an explanation, or maybe you don’t care about your customers. The “Cabbage Patch” marketing strategy, eventually fails.
Hi Rolex
I have been advised it will take 2 MONTHS TO SERVICE my Rolex in Australia.
I might add, the arrogance and indifference of the staff at HourGlass Watches in Brisbane (and my previous experience with these staff in Sydney), is amazing. You’d be forgiven for thinking they were the customer, and I am inconvenience to their day.
SERIOUSLY, this is what you pride yourselves on?
This is a watch that is only 5-7years old, looking for my first service.
If this is what prestige means to Rolex, then this Rolex will be going back in a box to collect dust, and I will ensure the next watch I buy, in NOT a Rolex.
The fact you don’t have a customer service on your main website page, is beyond stupid.
Can you please tell me if there is a Cosmograph Daytona in white gold available anywhere in the world? I live in the U.K. it is my husbands birthday and he has been searching to find one. If there is not one available in the U.K., we are willing to travel. We were in Geneva in August and we found a retailer with a Cosmograph but it wasn’t in white gold and had a brown dial. Please advise, I know this is a long shot, but any information would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks.
Hello, a few years ago my watch was stolen. I filed a police report but nothing was ever found. I have all the original packaging and the original attestation de chronometre. Client number 828 Montre 116200 serie G839270 Modele Oyster Perpetual. (I don’t know what these numbers mean ) This watch was very special to me, it was given to me by my father in-law. Is there any way to track if someone has tried to get a replacement card? Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated.
I am looking to buy the new GMT-Master II model no. 126710 BLRO with the jubilee bracelet. But every Rolex dealers say it is not released till this month, and each dealer say there is a huge waiting list, and they will only possibly receive a short number of this model released too them. it appears my chance of getting one is extremely unlikely. Where can I buy this model.
Hello,
I have been presented with my first Rolex. It was actually passed over to me is the recent past as a lucky charm by someone very dear to me. I was told that the watch was a tampered with once by a local watchmaker here in India.
Here is the actual condition of this watch:
The strap was apparently stolen and replaced with a local part with even the original back cover was stolen and replaced with a local part.
The dial, movements, outer shell, glass with a magnifier for date and crown all seem to be intact.
As this was given as a lucky charm by a person very dear to me, I really would like you to service it and help me bring it back to life and start sporting it.
Please could any of you assist me in restoring My First ROLEX, OYESTER PERPETUAL, DAY-DATE
Kind Regards
I am experiencing the same customer service directly from Rolex UK Limited.
The managing director Mr De Leyser is an arrogant lazy, disrespectful and rude he has no back bone he wouldn’t reply to my official letter of compliant having purchase six Rolex watches for my family. Rolex take your money give you the false pretence of buying with confidence.
They have two numb wits controlling the service department in Malling Kent whom are if not has bad has Mr De Leyser. they have no customer service qualities whatsoever. in fact if i was to ever meet them I would without a shadow of doubt give them both a proper piece of my mind.
A shower of secondhand salesman, if the truth be known.
My wife and I are looking for matching watches. We would prefer matching Submariner time pieces; however, it is my understanding that Rolex does not presently offer women’s watches in the Submariner series. Will Rolex offer the Submariner series in a women’s watch in the future?
How about coming out with a much BIGGER Rolex watch like a 50 mm. We are all waiting for it. Black on Black. Please send me a free one for the suggestion as you will sell millions of them.
I bought for my wife a lady datejust rose gold Pearl Master in Singapore in 2009 at the price of S$20K approximately. My wife had only worn it for about 20 times as she had many other watches. Two weeks ago one of the side piece of its bracelet fell off without any accident. We can’t fix it up. So I sent it to Partridge Auckland for repair in Rolex service Centre in Melbourne. I was really very disappointed when this happened to a reputed Rolex watch. I bet this won’t even happen to a cheap Seiko watch. What it is ridiculous manufacturing defect it is!! Again the Crown of one of my wife’s Rolex watches that she only bought two years and wore less than 10 times became and faulty. Though it was repaired free but we spent S$3K for the trip to Singapore from Malaysia. I’m really very very disappointed with the quality of the Rolex watches
I have inherited a Rolex 6916/3 from my aunt who died 16 years ago and in August 2015, I had the watch fully restored “health”, cleaned and also had 2 links added so that it could fit my wrist with more ease. I did so only then as I was too young before and could therefore not afford such repair (1,200euros) but was very happy with the result. (this was done through Rolex in Ibiza and was then sent to Madrid/Switzerland).
HOWEVER, unfortunately, in July 2017, one of the gold “link/point” from my antique bracelet fell off and I was therefore too worried about my watch’s safety to wear it and brought it to the London Rolex (Watches of Switzerland) in October.
There, I talked to a great man who told me about the story of Rolex and love of watches. He also told me that my watch would have to be “reserviced” otherwise Rolex’s maintenance and Repair team would not even touch my bracelet to repair it- I told him that as long as my bracelet was repaired, I did not care but stressed the point that the only reason I was coming to Rolex at the time (only 2 years and 3 months after my initial revision, was to REPAIR my bracelet (add one golden little link) because I want it to stay the way it is, as I do not like the new style bracelet and this watch for me reminds me of my deceased aunt.
Unfortunately, I then received an e-mail informing me of the following: “Please note that a full service is required. Watch has been fully waterproof tested- no leak found.
Movement dried out to prevent further damage.
2. Please be advised your bracelet is out of production. Therefore, the replacement is a new style jubilee bracelet.
3. Rolex have advised that as your bracelet shows signs of wear, a replacement bracelet is recommended.
This is in order to guarantee the security of your Rolex timepiece.
If you choose to proceed with the Full Service without replacing the bracelet, Rolex will not accept responsibility for it future security.
The original bracelet will however be ultrasonically cleaned.”
As you can see, the e-mail states that my bracelet is out of production, which is possible as it is an antique so I do not refute this but what I do not understand is why you simply won’t repair it- add the link, even if you do not guarantee its safety (in the sense that if it falls again, it is my responsibility to come back to you and pay for the potential new “works” myself since it is my wish not to have a new bracelet, which I have seen on other similar watches and I do not like as much)
I naively thought from the e-mail that what was meant was that you would add the link, do the other mentioned works and I would have to pay 1,095GBP so was very excited when I went to collect it this Tuesday.
Little did I know that actually all was a scheme to get money from your customers, that you would push the sale of the “needed repairs” that had been done already 2 years and 3 months previously, charge me the same amount of money for it and not even do what I initially made clear (stayed for 1h30 with your staff) that I wanted – THE ONLY REASON: add one link to enable me to wear my watch
.
Instead, I was told that you refuse to touch the bracelet, even to add the link (weird since you added those links 2 years and 3 months ago) and would only offer me a replacement bracelet, that i do not want, for 2,100GBP. So instead, your customer service told me to go somewhere else (not Rolex accredited) to get a golden link made and fix it on my bracelet (I can still wear the bracelet but because of one missing links I do not want to risk it).
I find it unacceptable given your worldwide reputation and the values you promote to the world and your customers ( most members of my family have a Rolex) you would not try to accommodate my modest request to keep a timepiece the way it is, especially when it regards such a small repair compared to what you have done previously on my watch) and on top of this recommend I go somewhere else, which means I won’t be able to go back to your Rolex after care ever again after I undergo this necessary repair that you just refuse to do.
As I do not know if this is just a UK strategy or a worldwide Rolex strategy, I am asking you if there is anything you could do to help me solve this issue.
The watch is still at Watches of Switzerland’s office, awaiting collection and my payment, but before I go back to collect it and be completely disappointed with Rolex as a whole, I decided to write to you first and see if this matter can be resolved.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
I visited your Rolex store to enquire about Daytona at Central IFC in Hong Kong this morning.
I was absolutely shocked by the lack of respect from your staff who was not helpful and looked down on me. I asked if I could be put on the waiting list and he told me it’s not possible to buy Daytona and he doesn’t know where to get it either. In short, he brushed me off.
I then visited another store in Kowloon and got a different response who took my name and contact number.
Dear Rolex/Tudor,
I recently purchase a Tudor GMT Pepsi and Tudor Black Bay.
After months of wearing, I discovered that the back of the watch casing has few parallel scratches. I noticed that the scratches was caused by the watch clasp. I would like to check with Tudor Watch why is there such a quality or design flaws issues. My existing Rolex watch doesn’t have such issues.
I live in Singapore and would like to know what can Tudor Watch do to rectify this scratches and why does a luxury watch has such design issues.
I’m Writing you to express my concern and unhappiness with the experience I have encountered in your Rolex dealer in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
Over the last year, I have experienced a delay in response when I tried to buy a Rolex watch. It is really embarrassing to call several times and visit the store several times in an attempt to buy a watch. It’s not the kind of thing you should be subjected to when visiting a Rolex store. I wanted particularly to buy the Rolex Cellini in navy blue a year ago. It was not available at that time and the sales rep advised me that it is a back order and due to arrive after 2 months. I followed up with the store after 2 months and informed me that it is not yet in their stock. I should check with them after one month. This kept going until to date . Last time I called on the store was few days ago. The watch is still not available. I asked them to quote me for the Cellini in black. They never got back to me.
My husband bought me a datejust a little over a year ago at Mayors. Before the year anniversary, it slipped from my wrist and the glass shattered. I paid hundreds to have it sent back to your company to have it repaired. My mother, while cleaning today, let it fall from my nightstand and again the glass broke. I don’t understand how a watch that is so expensive can be so fragile. I would really like a solution to this issue. I have an omega, and it has never broken. I can not fathom spending hundreds again to repair a glass that is so fragile it can’t withstand a simple slip. Please help!
Less than five years ago i bought a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller 116660, G504004 supposedly 3900 meters water colun waterproof watch at a “Torneau” store in New York, and because here in Brazil where I live it’s a little bit dangerous to walk on the street with a watch like this I use it only in social events and international travels, which means I have used it at maximum four months. The watch has never had any contact with water or any other liquids except for washing my hands and taking showers (not used in bathtubs) and has never recieved any strong mechanical shock . In the beggining of June while I was washing my hands I noticed some water condensation on the inside of the watch had appeared, and I didn’t take it from my wrist (to avoid the water condensed on the glass going in the mechanism). One and a half days after the water apeared I took the watch to Relógios Rolex LTDA., your official repair center in São Paulo, where the watch was fine except for the condensed water on the glass, and June five I recieved an invoice with a price of more than U$ 1,000.00, which I acepted. The girl there said I hadn’t tightend well the Screw Down Crown, and after twenty days I received an e-Mail saying that I had fifteen days to pick up my watch and the price was higher. I live in one of my farms 160 Kilometers away from Rolex repair center and it is quite difficult to travel to São Paulo only to pick up my watch in a short timespan. There i complained the price rose and they agreed to charge the original price (the price itself was absurd for my judgement) they called a tecnician that said the problem was the Helium Escape Valve, I asked for my bill and they said they would send it by e-Mail, which didn’t happen. About ten hours after I recieved the watch it stopped. I have taken the watch back to Rolex (320 Kilometers more) and they say they will repair it (no cost) but after asking for my bill they gave it to me, now more than a month has passed and I have no notice of my watch.
Can anyone tell me the customer service e-mail?
Can anyone point me in the direction of an email address? My husband has inherited his grandfathers Rolex (approx 1940’s) and would like to get it valued but is concerned about going somewhere that isn’t Rolex .
A few years ago my husband brought my Rolex from Jared and after a few weeks it had stopped working. Since then I’ve been returning to the store to “set my watch” on many occasions. After a while, I got tired and only wore it “for show”. I was told after a few years the watch needed “a fine tuning”, which is what we’ve done several months ago. After $800 in costs the watch stopped working and my frustration grew. My husband and myself are furious and don’t understand why such a “reputable and distinct” company such as Rolex would stand behind their “prized products” that does not work? Please advise as we’ve already spend thousands of dollars behind this watch that does not perform as it’s supposed to..
From the sounds of what you are saying, there may be a slight possibility that the watch it self may not be a genuine rolex, this is only an assumption based on what i’ve come across, although highly unlikely there is still a possibility i would take it to another dealer and get them to verify it first
