About Remitly
Remitly is a mobile payments service provider founded in 2011. Headquartered at Seattle, US, the company enables swift international money transfers from the US, UK and Canada. Users can send money to a number of countries that include India, Mexico, Colombia, Philippines, Honduras, Nicargua, Peru and El Salvador. The licensed money transmitter processes millions of dollars in transactions each month. It is authorized to do business in all 50 states. Remitly also partners with leading banks around the world.
There are two options available for sending money – Express and Economy. While Express transfers are available within 4 banking hours, Economy transfers take 3-5 business days but have affordable rates. The Rates & Fees section on the website has details of rates for Economy or Express service. There will be an additional charge for credit card transactions.
To start sending money, register on the Remitly platform and create your account. Proceed to enter recipient details, including bank information. You can send money from checking/savings account or credit card. There will be a sending limit for new users. This however can be changed after verification. Once the amount has been sent, recipient will receive SMS with the reference number and instructions on how to claim their money.
If you want to cancel your transfer you can do same by signing into your account or calling the Remitly helpline. Credit card or debit card refunds can take 3 to 5 banking days to complete. I can’t claim the cash sent to me at Remitly at Cebuana Lhullier Cavite Philippines because the cashier said Remitly is offline here for almost 2 days. Please turn it online as regards your message to me on my cellphone. You nessaged me my cellphone onstructing me to claim it but how come its offline. Huh? Impossible!
