About Publix
Publix is an American supermarket chain that was founded by George Jenkins in 1930. Currently, there are close to 1,150 stores across the country. The stores are located across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. In Florida alone, there are more than 774 stores. To locate a Publix store nearest to your address you can use the ‘Find a store’ option on the website. You can also filter outlets that offer Publix Pharmacy, Drive Thru Pharmacy, Charging Station, and Grocery Delivery.
Besides a large number of supermarket chains across the country, Publix also operates 9 distribution centers and 11 manufacturing facilities, the latter for bakery, dairy, fresh foods and printing. The company today claims to be the tenth largest-volume supermarket chains in the country. It’s retail sales in 2016 touched $34 billion. Headquartered in Lakeland, Florida, Publix currently employs more than 188,000 people.
For those who love shopping online, Publix has an e-store where you can find a variety of products, from deli, platters, bakery, produce and seafood. You can pay for your order after you pick it up in store. Your pickup number will appear on your final order summary. For more information or queries on store locations, payment, online shopping, cancellation, or others, reach the Publix customer service.
Today(9/18), I purchased a bag of Pepperidge Farm Milano dark chocolate cookies. However, much to my surprise, the price was $4.89, which is up from $3.69, the most re- cent price paid before today. That’s an increase of 32.9% which seems excessive. Additionally, that increase far exceeds the current rate of inflation? This is a bit disturbing considering the overall increases in grocery prices. Isn’t there something Publix can do to mitigate these obscenely higher prices??
