About Pandit Nehru Bus Station
Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) is a popular and large bus terminal located at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. PNBS was opened in the year 1990 and since then has been owned and operated by the the Andhra State Road Transport Corporation. Also called the Vijayawada Bus Stand, the terminal is one of the five busiest in the country. The bus stand is spread across 28 acres of land and is located on the banks of the river Krishna.
Currently, there are 62 platforms, with one arrival and departure terminal each. You will find here buses that connect commuters within the city, and also to neighboring states such as Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu. There are buses operated by both TSRTC and APSRTC, the latter with fleet that includes Garuda, Indra, Telugu Velugu, Deluxe, Vennela and Amaravati. The Metro Deluxe AC and Luxury AC buses connect to the Vijayawada International Airport. All city bus services are operated from the adjacent Vijayawada City Bus Port.
On the PNBS terminal, you will find buses connecting to cities on specific platforms. The buses connect you to Eluru, Gannavaram, Tanuku, Amalapuram, Kakinada, Guntur, Srisailam, Nellore, Tirupati, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Nalgonda, Tenali and Thullur. The schedule with arrival and departure of buses is published on the APSRTC website. You can input the origin, destination and date to see availability of buses. Tickets can be purchased online using debit or credit card. You can also view and cancel ticket by signing into account. Existing ticket holders can track bus real time online.
The Pandit Nehru Bus Station also has computerised ticketing counters from where tickets can be purchased. There are large digital screens showing the arrival and departure of buses. Regular announcements are also made through the speakers. If you are early for your bus, you can comfortably relax at the waiting lounge. Additionally, the bus terminal has restaurants and snack counters for a quick meal.
