Just recently, my TX-NR828 receiver cannot be powered up through its unit power button and remote controller. Standby LED on. In fact, no responses whatsoever from any buttons both on unit and remote control. Can’t even perform the hardware reset. The remote works for other appliances, such as, Sony TV and Philips Blu-ray player. Receiver only works through the Onkyo Remote3 APP. It respond to all commands from the APP. Tried unplugging the unit for 1hr and 24hrs before re-plugging , no effect. Have also done the reset of remote controller to no avail. Even with this problem, the receiver can be turned on by other appliances connected through it such as, Philips Blu-ray. Turning on the Blu-ray will also turn on the receiver but, still can not operate it’s buttons and remote. The receiver can also turn on if I turn it off by unplugging the power cable without turning off the unit through the APP, by plugging back in the power cable. Again, can not control through the unit switches and remote. Also noticed that while playing video, the home screen will pop up. Consulted Onkyo and got response from Onkyo HK that it needs to be brought to its service center which I doubt coz I suspect there should be a work around on this issue, i.e., performing another method of hardware reset if any. Anybody experienced the same problem and can kindly share here the solution? Thanks!
Hello …
Bought a TX-RZ730 Onkyo Network amplifier. It has an ARC connector. However till now, months later, I am still not able to connect the ARC to my 65″ Samsung 4K tv. Spoken to Onkyo Rep in Singapore and was told there is nothing that they can do if the ARC cannot be connected.
If it’s cannot be connected, then what is the point of having and ARC input??
Is there any one out there who can help me. It is very frustrating not being able to use the ARC as u losing out on the sound quality.
Looking forward to hear from you soonest.
Thank you.

I slowly built my dream system all expensive Klipsch speakers run by the onkyo 646 receiver I got 2 r12sw subwoofers $500 a piece 24f towers around 200 each and a r25c center the final purchase was a onkyo 646 and I was stoked. I didn’t use it much unless I had a rare guest and we would watch a movie I probably played the stereo 20 times total over a period of 3 or so years because I’m disabled and I’m upstairs but the system is downstairs. Anyways my dad was over for the 8th game of the nfl season watching the Seahawks and I had his favorite band cream playing and the onkyo made a strange sound and shut off. I turned it back on and distortions and lack of high frequency out of the expensive Klipsch. Turns out it blew both tweeters in my r24f towers and the center r25c I did reading and found out these receivers have a problem with there dac processors etc. the 646 ended up ruining Klipsch speakers close to $600 and the onkyo has problems and I paid 399$ for it. It’s just unbelievable it took me a year to slowly build my dream system and your proven defective receiver has ruined it all except the self powered subwoofers. It’s so messed up I am reaching out with this story because I can’t afford to rebuy everything and they knew there was problems so yes help with a replacement reciever would be a start but I doubt I’ll hear from anyone. I heard pioneer is using the same parts and same problems so do your research I’m out around 1k speakers and receiver. I probably used the receiver 20 times total for music maybe 20 movies when I had guests over because I can’t make it downstairs comfortably that’s just extremely disappointing as I don’t see me being able to build a new system for years. Sincerely Edward M from Portland,Or
Hi Onkyo, I bought onkyo model HT-R592 from LuLu Store in Abu Dhabi, UAE 4 years ago, now the problem is the receiver don’t have power. Can you help me to locate your service center here in uae.
I have a onkyo TX-NR616 receiver. When i turn it on I do not hear ant sound. What should I do. Although the light is on of all button. Do I need to up date the firmware. Also, please give the address of your dealer in Toronto Canada. I would appreciate it.
Hi, I bought a Pioneer CD-D recorder, which I found a high quality machine for years. I also bought CD-R For Music Only RDD-74, and sadly they seem to be deteriorating. Music I recorded on a Pioneer recorder using Pioneer CD-R are starting to skip badly, especially toward the last 10 or 15 minutes, although they were kept clean in a cool area out of the sun, etc. What is the warranty? Luckily I still own the vinyl I recorded from.
Thank you for your time.

I purchased a receiver in May sales order SO17W11115. To date, I have not been refunded the price difference as promised in the trade in program. And now no one answers the support line phones for 1 1/2 hours I am on hold? What a joke. Consumers deserve better.
Dear Denon Dealer and World Wide Manager,
My Name is SPS SAHNI.
On 07th of May 2015, I took the decision of investing in your brand and bought Amplifier and UPS of your Company-ONKYO.
This was a wrong decision on my part and I regret due to the following reasons:
1. In The first year the amplifier failed to work twice and was sent back for repair within the warranty period.
2. In the second year (after the warranty expired) again the amplifier had problem and we again sent the amplifier for repair and paid for the repairs from our pocket.
3. And now for the 5th time the amplifier has FAILED in the last 2 years and its lying with your dealer, since the last 4 months & Till date.
4. What is most shocking is that, this has affected our business and the harassment and cost (not only for repairs) but also send it to the workshop and back.
5. We have made over 40 phone calls to your dealer, ( Mr Arora at M/S A V ZONE ) and failed in finding a permanent solution.
To me this was the least expected and specially from a brand like ONKYO.
Please find a solution to this within 15 days of the receipt of this email, or else I shall be within my legal right to take this matter to the
appropriate legal forum.
Although your dealer (Mr ARORA @ M/S A V ZONE) has verbally assured me of a replacement with a new Amplifier within this week, but in his this endeavor he wants to extort more money from me (by adding more insult to the injury)
As per his reason the replacement amplifier is more expensive and he wants me to pay more.
That’s even more preposterous and unprofessional that instead of any compensation, (for all that I have been and still going though for the last two years), the company seems to further penalize me, for buying your Brand/product.
And I don’t feel I deserve this, and specially after all that I have gone through for the past 26 months.
I look forward to your understanding and a speedy reply & solution.
Thanks,
warm regards,

Dear Onkyo Malaysia (Customer Service)
Never had I been so frustrated abt a product customer service. My amp NR1030 broke down on the 15th Dec 2016 & I had to courier the behemoth 22kg to Kuala Lumpur for repair as my city dont hv an authorized technician. Today is the 12th Jan of the new 2017 year & still not repaired. I been given a round around by yr customer service like an idiot – from one reason to another. I hv been deprived of my dedicated av room in my house for nearly a month now & to endure during the festive priod is intolerable. I hv written a legal letter & copied it to the presidents of Onkyo Japan as well as Asia/Ocenia to vent my frustration. At this rate – this is my last Onkyo product

Dear Onkyo,
I have the problem with my Onkyo AV Receiver TX NR 709 that I bought around 3 years ago. There is no sound come out from my speaker while there is no problem with the display on the TV screen.
From some information I gathered on the internet, this problem is in regard with the HDMI board or DTS board that experienced in some Onkyo AV Receiver products. It is also suggested to bring my AV Receiver to the closest Onkyo Service Center. The problem is, non of the phone number of Onkyo Service Center in Jakarta could be contacted. Please kindly advise me the reachable contact number of Onkyo service center in Jakarta.
Thank you and regards,
Ananditya

To Whom It May Concern:
On September 30, 2014 a technician 025770668 with Van # 629_VAN05 came to my residence and installed equipment per dish network contract. Also, I purchased an Onkyo sound bar from the technician. Attached is a bill showing my account number, technician number, van number, etc…
Approximately, two months later the Onkyo sound bar stopped working. I called Dish Network and technical support was unable to get the sound bar to work but suggested I send it out for repair. I contacted Onkyo technical support after 1 1/2 hours on hold and they were unable to get the sound bar to work. They also recommended that I send the sound bar out for repair. I was told the sound bar came with a one year warranty from the manufacture, Onkyo.
In December, 2014 I spoke to Adam’s Electronics about the sound bar and they told me to send in the unit and they would look at it. They told me to provide them with a receipt, the sound bar, and a description of what was wrong with the sound bar. I told them I did not have a receipt just a copy of my bill showing the sound bar purchase. I then called Dish and they said that receipt should work.
On Tuesday, February 3, 2015 I received a voice mail from Adam’s Electronics stating Onkyo would not fix the unit unless a proper purchase order was submitted. And Onkyo said it looks as if the sound bar was a lease. They also informed me that Dish Network would be responsible for paying for the sound bar since it was a leased item. This sound bar was not leased but purchased. See attached.
On Wednesday, February 4, 2014 I spoke to a customer service agent who after 30 minutes was unable to solve my request for a more detailed purchase receipt. I requested I speak to their supervisor. After speaking to the supervisor they suggested they send out a technician of which I informed the supervisor that the sound bar was at Adam’s Electronics in California. She insisted a technician come out to my house.
Will someone please help me get the Onkyo sound bar fixed that I purchased from Dish Network that comes with a 1 year manufacture warranty?
Sincerely,
Frank J. Torchia, Jr.
I bought my bose speaker comes with the onkyo amplifier about 2 yrs ago in new jersey usa, after using for 2years the onkyo amplifier the unit wont operate anymore so i brought to the service center in jakarta indonesia. The said service center charged me double since i ddnt bought it in local market besides from the parts to be replaced. Thats a stupid idea they should have care for the trademark or brand they are marketing because of this idea the user will get angry and hate for the brand and shift for the other brand. Pls stop this idea for you to be competitive with the other brands.
Thanks
Nonoy
I have an Onkyo AV receiver for repair since 3 months. This is the worst customer service I ever faced. It is impossible to contact them by phone and I send an email every day with no answer to my requests. I am very angry and so disappointed.
If possible, run away from this brand.
I have Onkyo TX 607SR. My problem is that the setup screen is not showing on my LCD TV instead it only shows on the display panel on the TX607SR. I have reset the unit but problem still presists. What should I do. Thank you
This is the worst service that i have ever encountered. PLEASE STAY AWAY from Onkyo products if you want to live peacefully. The customer service in Dubai is HORRIBLE, I bought such a expensive home theatre and within a month it started giving me trouble and worst than that is the customer service
I purchased an Onkyo TXSR 608 last year from the US and brought it home here to the Philippines. Yesterday I brought it to Toyama, Inc. the local distributor and service center for repair. They tell me that since my unit was bought in the US and not locally, they are charging me double for repair service. The original service charge of P1800($43) will be P3600($86). On top of this, I will need to pay for parts that need to be replaced. I have no problem with paying for the parts. However, the doubled service charge I feel is a sign of bad faith and business practice not only for Onkyo Philippines but for the entire Onkyo brand. Why should Onkyo clients who purchased their units abroad and not through local dealerships be penalized for such. I have been an onkyo user since 1995. I have tried many different brands such as Yamaha, Denon, Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer and Marantz but over the last 15 years have been using nothing else but Onkyo. But because of this incident that the local Philippine dealer and service center has deemed to charge me double the service cost for my unit because it was not a local purchase, I am losing faith in the brand. I have purchased onkyo from different local dealers in the past namely Listening Room, Sights and Sounds, Listening in Style and the former Upscale Audio. At this moment, I own 3 different Onkyo Models namely the TXSR 608(for repair), TXNR 609(my bedroom unit) and a TXNR616 for my home theater. If Onkyo Philippines or International does not take action regarding this letter, I will be forced to dispose of all my Onkyo units and try out a different brand. Please consider my situation. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dale Allen Ang
Dear Onkyo
I am owner of a Onkyo HiFi system bought 1995. Everything works fine so far. I expected the quality to be the same and ordered a BD-SP809 online.
My old CD player Integra DX 7711 has a solid alloy CD tray – the BD-SP809 has one made from cheapest plastic. For a price of 800 CHF (800 USD) quite embarrassing. The player has no weight, compared to the old one.
I was quite upset to get a rubbishy plastic tray for this price. If I had known that I had purchased a 250 USD player. Its unlikely to hear the difference to a cheaper player, so you missed the chance to differentiate with housing qualities which will hold me back from again buying higher priced components.
Best Regards
Michael
