About NZ Post
NZ Post is a state-owned postal service operator in New Zealand. Also popular as New Zealand Post, the company was founded in the year 1987 though it has a history of more than 180 years. Headquartered at Wellington, the key services include parcel delivery, letter delivery, logistics, freight and banking services. For the financial year that ended in 2021, NZ Post reported a profit of $32 million, much of it coming from the parcel segment. It offers delivery of parcels, packages and mail for both consumers and businesses. To book a letter or parcel, you can visit any of the nearest NZ Post outlet. You can locate one using address or city using the branch locator on the website. Additionally, you can find an address or postcode, or even print postage online.

By printing labels through the website you can now send parcels from the comfort of your home. You can safely pack and print the postage label, and pay for same using card online. Once your parcel is ready to be shipped, you can request a courier to collect same from your location or even have it dropped off at a NZ Post store. When sending packages overseas don’t forget to attach consignment notes, invoices and other related documents. As for costs, it will be primarily determined by the weight of the parcel. Small parcels can contain weight of up to 3kg. When sending parcels within New Zealand, you can choose between Economy, Courier and Express. Under Economy you can expect delivery within 3 working days. Courier can be next working day, while Express will ensure the same is delivered same day. Economy and Express shipping options are also available for sending large parcels that contain weight of up to 25kg. Do note the prohibited items, dimensions and weight restrictions online before preparing your package. Speaking of letters, they can mostly weigh up to 500gm. For Australia, it can be 3-6 working days, and for rest of the world, it can be up to 10 working days. As for receiving parcels within New Zealand, you can choose to have it delivered at any of the collection points, at a PO Box, secure lockers or have it redirected to another address.
