About Hot Wheels
Hot Wheels is a brand part of the Mattel family, an American multinational toy manufacturing company. It has long been in the market with the popular miniature cars and related toys. The miniatures sold by the company are the number one selling toys across the globe. This die-cast toy car brand started manufacturing toys in 1968 and has been steadfast on its quest to capture the young market. In 2018, Mattel won the toy of the year award for the Hot Wheels Super Ultimate Garage in the playset of the year category. In 2020, Hot Wheels Mario Kart Assorted vehicle got crowned for the vehicle of the year award.
The miniature models being so popular with the young generation is the reason that some of the major automobile brands across the globe licensed Hot Wheels to make the scale models of their most admired car models. Automobile makers allowed Hot Wheels to use their original blueprints, including the detailing, to make the collaboration a success. With the popular automobile makers collaborating with Hot Wheels, the brand, which was originally intended to be for the young adults and children, is now quite popular with adult collectors. Hot Wheels comes up with limited-edition models to keep the collectors engaged with the brand.
The original Hot Wheels car dates to 1968 when it was crafted by Elliot Handler. The first production line of Hot Wheels was The Original Sweet 16, which was also the first of the brand’s red line series with red pinstripes on the sides of the cars. The marketing department of the brand predicted a sale of 5 million toy cars in the first years. Back then, when the competition was with the Matchbox cars and a buyer from the Kmart watched the Matchbox tumble from the track and Hot Wheels car practically flying through the track, Kmart immediately placed an order of more than fifty million toy cars. The brand in the previous year generated gross sales of US$ 929.9 million.
The online website of Hot Wheels showcases all the manufactured toys for its followers, lists the prices, and the retail shop that keeps each piece. The customers can log on to the website, look for the toy that they are interested in, and click on the ‘find in retail’ option. The website will load the retailers that are currently keeping the stock. The retailers listed on the website include Amazon, Target, and Walmart. The website also facilitates the ‘find nearby’ option, which lets the customers look for nearby stores if any. Hot Wheels manufacturers car toys, large vehicle toys, track sets, and advanced play toy items. The themes currently available are Hot Wheels id, Hot Wheels Mario Kart, Hot Wheel Monster Trucks, and Hot Wheels Track Builder Unlimited. The toy collection is also available as per the age. The collector section of the website showcases limited edition car collectibles for interested customers.
Customers cannot make a direct purchase of the collectibles from the website, but each item that they buy from any of the online portals or retail outlets is backed by a Hot Wheels exchange and refund warranty. You will need an original proof of purchase, and you can process the refund or exchange within 28 days of the purchase. All the non-refundable items from the Hot Wheels are expressly marked for the same.
I purchased last Friday a set worth 350 aed (equivalent to 95 dollar) the rev rally set from a toy store in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. My car loving kids were very excited to play with it. However one day later i was surprised to find that the handle to a revolving part was broken. I was really taken aback, how i invested my money to buying a hot wheels toy given how advertised and popular it is and assuming it is as fun and high quality as any other generic set, to find out it was broken the next day.
I’m a collector of Hot Wheels cars and so is my best friend. I was wondering why you never made a General Lee car from Dukes of Hazzards? Just kinda curious about that. And if there was any way that you could make a special one for my best friend, he loves the Dukes of Hazzards and Hot Wheels as well!!
First of all I love Hot Wheels. I have a collection that is just off the hook. I’m 62 years old and I’ve been collecting Hot Wheels since my mid twenties. I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 4×4 and I’m trying to find a miniature model of that truck but cant find.
Bought the hotwheels stunt garage and it came with 2 of the same parts so my son can’t assemble the bottom tier of the garage. They sent 2 top parking spots. Tried calling for 2 days now and nothing but on hold listening to simple man instrumental.
I’m trying to find the name of one of the monster trucks but I can’t find it or anything else like it anywhere. It says “2006 Mattel, Inc” on the bottom. It has a forward facing rhino’s head painted on it, base color is black and it has a gray and white swirl on the side doors. The tail is an erect chain that when pushed down, the mouth opens to reveal teeth and a tongue. Please help!
My son just got two monster truck Hot Wheels for his birthday. He accidentally dropped them and the back wheels broke off. Your products have become junk and I do believe I’m going to quit buying them and it’s too bad too because I would have spent a whole lot of money due to my son’s autism and his obsession with cars.
Hot wheels fan since a child. Bought the monster sets for my son what a waste of money. I went to toys r us got 2 track sets and 2 box sets of monster trucks. I paid over 200 bucks for everything and all that got me was an upset child and having to fix the tires more then play. The monster trucks are a waste of money tires do not stay on rims what crap and pour manufacturing. Stick to the cars and tracks don’t waste your money on the monster truck side unless you just keeping them on the shelves…
Just wondering if I can get a limited edition Holden Monaro, my husband would love one but we have looked everywhere and they aren’t available. Not willing to pay $100 or more from people who have brought them all to make heaps of money.
My son is a massive monster truck lover and we’ve got around 30-40 of the large ones and a ridiculous amount of little ones, my son nearly 4 has a particular like to the red Dennis grave digger design as it has a very similar resemblance to a recent monster truck he seen at a even and had a ride on. However this toy design is poor we’ve brought his 2nd of of this design today as his first ones shell came completely off and wouldn’t go back together. So I go him another today but it’s been a couple hours and the same thing has happened the shell had come off on the front end and just won’t screw back together, which has left my son upset but I also don’t want to buy and 3rd as it must be a fault with this design.
We have multiple hot wheel tracks. 1 out of 3 of the tracks with motorized launchers completely stopped working. Another of the 3 motorized launchers slows down in the middle of play and when lifted runs at full speed. The third launcher currently works fine.
I bought my 4 year old the Hot Wheels Massive Loop Mayhem Track Set for Christmas, within 5 minutes of playing with it the launcher has snapped in half! Very disappointed this has happened especially with it being a higher priced toy!
Our 5 year old got the Massive Loop Mayhem Track Set for Christmas 2021, 5 hits on the launcher and it broke… He was so excited, and none of the pieces work with anything else… If you try to launch other ways they jump before entry and flip. Sadly a poor design. How do we get a new launcher?
The same exact thing happened to us. We are very disappointed. I bought this for my grandson. It broke within an hour. And this was his biggest present.
Toy Defect: Hot Wheels City Ultimate Garage Playset
We bought our 5 year old son the Hot Wheels City Ultimate Garage Playset for Christmas 2021. I assembled and tested the toys Christmas morning (yesterday) and everything worked. My son played with it a few times throughout the day (~ 10-15 minutes at a time), but in the evening the crank started slipping and would no longer move the dinosaur up. I toggled the lock to move just the elevator and it worked fine. The elevator moved up and down without issue. I then re-engaged the dinosaur lock and then the same issue occurred. About half a crank of the gear would cause the gear to slip and no movement. I disengaged the lock and manually exercised the dinosaur up the track and movement was fine. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? This was our son’s big present this year and it is very expensive to have broken in one day of casual use.
