I live in Weston, Florida. I have been a Harley Davison’s customer since 2016 when I used to rent a Fat Boy every weekend to ride with friends. Due to this amazing experience, I decided to purchase two brand new Harleys: one Softail Deluxe in March 2017 that was replaced by a Fat Boy in March 2018. These motorcycles were purchased at Harley’s dealer “Alligator Alley” in Sunrise, FL. I have also referred three friends to this dealer and they purchased their Harley Davison there.
My Fat Boy has developed an intense corrosion on the front lower fork (like an oxidation) that started in jan/2020. This corrosion started within the 2 years of the purchase. I understand Florida has high humidity however I would not expect that an issue like this would develop so early. I have also raised this issue in an internet forum among others Harley Davison motorcycle owners. Everyone was surprised that this corrosion developed in such a short period of time.
The dealership customer service team could not solve my problem, because warranty has expired. Besides loving my Fat Boy I have been very loyal to Harley Davison over these years. It is very frustrating that I could not have the support from the dealership.
Harley-Davidson continues to make mistakes over and over again. 1. E bikes R the future. You shouldn’t try to market them to current customers; new younger, future customers.
2. I really like the HD e- Cafe racer design. But I am a life long HD customer, and can afford an expensive motorcycle. If the VR1000 E-Cafe Racer was available I would have seriously look at it. It is so cool! But HD made another mistake!
3. HD should have marketed a smaller entry-level e-bike to attract new customers, younger and probably poorer yes, But new customer base.
4. I have seen videos of cheap Chinese e-bikes chewing up conventual bikes of all brands. Bad thing was it broke all the time, but it was trivial stuff easy and inexpensive to fix.
5. How about a HD express scout e-bike. It would be great for big city messengers, college students, fast food delivery , entry-level riders!!!
6. Americans dominate in every field because of our Freedom to Innovate. We learn it at a young age,and r forced to deny it for a paycheck. Sometimes for the rest of our lives! The trend in the us is away from middle income salaries. If wallstreet had it’s way we’d all be making minimum wages.
I hope Harley-Davidson will take into account all the historical successes that they have had, and make fewer marketing mistakes in the future.
I purchased a pair of harley davidson boots , size 9 USA, stock # 94379 engineer boots, made in China. That must be the problem. Immediately the lining was falling apart, then the insole, now the uppers are separating from the soles. Bought new and better insoles. Then the zipper failed, ( using velcro) then the soles. Tried to have them repaired at my expense and the man said don’t waste your time or money. The soles are cheap and they will fall apart quickly. I paid good money for these harely boots and they are trash. Thought the name harley would mean something to the company but seems money means more. Cheap Chinese product for more profits for harley. Have other boots that are older and still have life in them. Harley should be ashamed for pawning, something this pathetic, off on their loyal customers. I wanted harley quality to go with my harley bike. That was a mistake. Guess I shouldn’t buy harley products if they’re going to be this pathetic. These boot should still have a lot of life left in them but they just do not hold up. Bad boots to have the harley name and logo attached to them. Making harley look pathetic. I do not have the receipt but that should not have any effect on the harley quality that does not exist in these boots. Honestly the worst boots I have ever purchased. You took me this time but I will remember this when I purchase again and talk with harley friends.
I have contacted customer service three times with no response. Harley-Davidson could care less about the wants and needs of us 60 YO riders. Harley-Davidson made a poor business decision when they decided to offer the Road/Street glide specials with only a black out engine. Why on earth HD did not at least offer a chrome engine part option is beyond me. I have asked several dealers this question only to be told the younger riders like the blacked out engine parts etc…Dealers will normally try and tell me the standard Road/Glide has the chrome desired. However, these bikes come with a 107 and not the 114. GO POUND SAND HARLEY DAVIDSON. Is it time to start riding Indian.
I just learned that HD is considering building bikes in Europe. Will I need metric tools? This maybe a good finical decision for the short term but certainly not for the long term. I and my fellow HD owners want a made in America American motorcycle. What about my HOG stock? Should I seriously consider my next ride be a Victory?

What email address do I send a concern to? I have sent 2 emails to Harley and was told a response would be given in 2 to 3 business days. That was 2 weeks ago. They have a serious brake issue that I want some answers on!
Tried to email Harley also. No email except to their online store support. Harley has lost my business. I belong to a club which only uses Harley bikes. Guess time are changing! Liking the looks of the new Indians. Harley must want to go out of business, thinking they might succeed.
