About Frogfoot
Frogfoot is a South African fiber network Internet provider founded by entrepreneur Abraham van der Merwe in 2000. The technology company, with headquarters at Cape Town, provides high speed Internet connectivity to businesses and homes using optic fibre cables. It uses Fibre To The Home (FTTH) technology to provide higher bandwidth. The connection goes directly to the residences as a dedicated network unlike traditional copper technologies like DSL, ensuring users get ultra speed connectivity to browse or stream with zero buffering. With FTTH you can enjoy speeds ranging from 100 Mbps to 1Gbps.
If you are considering moving to a faster Internet service provider, Frogfoot’s plans might offer just what you need. With fibre technology, you can get 250 times faster Internet, use CCTV cameras for improved security, and enjoy VoIP calling locally and internationally with no costs. Further, users can also improve mobile phone coverage by installing decentralised mini-antennas. For those who want to go with smart metering and home automation, the FTTH technology will meet these expectations.
To get connectivity over FTTH, you can register on the website by inputting your details, along with location where it must be installed. New users can check coverage in their area by entering the address on the Coverage section of the website. The interactive map will show you active areas, along with planned and work in progress locations. If there is no coverage at your address, you can request to be alerted when it becomes available.
The packages include both capped and uncapped and are defined by the respective ISP. You can choose from 10Mbps to 1Gbps and more. Popular service providers listed include Nepic, Force Telecoms, Bosveld Communications, Opix, FibreWireless, WebAfrica, PacketSky, Adept, Afrihost, Amobia, Cell C, RocketNet, Vodacom, Wibernet and Skyfi. Under each plan, you can see if VOIP lines are available, what the download/upload speed is and if there is a free WiFi router.
You can choose the plan that fits your requirement and proceed to registration. The Internet service provider will revert back with activation details. The prices also vary according to services subscribed. You can choose plans that offer only Internet, or includes phone, IPTV and UPS. There might be a set up fee for laying the fibre optic cable. For frequently asked questions on the FTTH technology, installation, speed or others, you can navigate to the FAQ section on the website.
I have orders through WebAfrica and my order is close to 2months now and still struggling to get an installation!! Absolutely ridiculous!!
Worst service ever. I have been waiting for 3 weeks now to have my Fibre line activated at my new address. I cannot believe that it can take them this long. Not good Frogfoot, not good.
Worse service ever. My fibre was off for a week before someone came to attend to a line break. dint even last for a week and my fibre is off again. I keep calling and logging calls. the guy said he will come out and fix it before 11 in the morning. It is 2 days later now and still no one has came.
My WIFI stopped working after a power outage on Friday night the 9th July.
I have logged a call via VOX on Saturday morning. Ref Vox 15247509.
I have been struggling since Saturday to get someone from Frogfoot to come out to attend to the matter.
I have made several calls to VOX but they keep telling me that Frogfoot should fix the problem but they cant give me any contact details to call Frogfoot or expected turnaround time.
I am unable to work at this stage and it is effecting me negatively.
Unacceptable service and they cant fix a problem quickly but very quick to sell their product to you on every street corner.
Is there another company than Frogfoot for fibre service. The 3rd time where Frogfoot attends to a problem in our complex and other users are cut off for 3 weeks before attended to and then just to cut off another user’s internet. Even their technicians do not answer their phones.
Frog foot is the worst fiber provider ever . I moved into a new place with fiber line router and everything. All they have to do is activate my line but it has been a week now and still no internet. You just need to migrate a line and you cant even do that..
I was so looking forward to this fibre thing, but it has just been a nightmare for us, 2021 is even worse considering the fact that we working from home also school children need wifi connection for their work. I have never received a level of substandard service such as offered by Frogfoot thus far, it is horrible. To make matters worse one had to incur additional costs by resorting to my good old LTE modem, that has never let me down in times of need.
Worst than ever! I wish I could go to an another isp but helas. My question is why are we imposed such a bad service provider and we have to pay for!!
The worst service I have come across in all of my life!! I have been waiting for them to activate my fibre line for 4 weeks now. I already have a router that I set up and configured myself, but the owner of the line, Frogfoot, just cannot seem to activate it. I work from home and cannot afford to be without an active fibre line. What is going on with these people!?
They on purpose try and be the slowest service delivery in SA. They make telkom look world class. My place is fibre ready they just need to activate and deliver router. Its been 14 working days and nothing has happened yet. Which I find so funny because if youd work one of those days things actually would have been done. Horrible service. And they do not care about their clients.
Very poor service and connectivity. Moved from Afrihost thinking the problem was with them. Now Im with Axxess and still the same issues. Slow internet amd not what I am paying for.. Frogfoot infrastructure the problem and they dont care. Think they have monopoly.. Very poor service provider and in my area I have no other choice. My paid for 50mbps line runs at 20mps since installation. What a rip off. Will be reporting to NCC and ICCASA.
Worse than Telekom and Adsl. So pathetic that they are unable to restore connectivity for more than a week. I’m working from home. This has cost me a lot of money having to change over to LTE on my phone. Really unhappy with them.
