About Emirates Post
As the name suggests, Emirates Post is UAE’s leading provider of postal and non-postal services. Often referred to as Empost, the company operates as a subsidiary of Emirates Post Holding. Though it’s history dates back to 1909 when the agency was managed by the Indian Post Office Services, in 1972 it came under the country’s Ministry of Communications. With a mission to be the leading postal and ecommerce logistics provider in the Middle East, Emirates Post is seeing a steady growth in both personal as well as business services. You can send a courier or package to domestic as well as international destination at affordable costs. These services can be availed at the postal office or through the app. With just a few clicks you can even rent a PO Box, get rates and track shipment.

Being the national postal service provider, Emirates Post has a wide network that makes sending of registered or express mails, and parcels easy across Dubai, UAE and around the globe. The Express Mail Service (EMS) is called Mumtaz Post. It is availed six days of the week and can be accessed at more than 110 retail outlets and post offices across UAE. Costs vary according to the volume, weight and destination. The EMS does have a maximum weight of 30kg and a maximum dimension of 1.5m. There are tools available on the website to help you calculate rates. The rate calculator will ask for details such as the origin, destination, weight, shipment value and length/width/height, to give you tentative costs. If you have dispatched an item, track the same using the tracking number online. The proof of delivery can be claimed online as well.

According to the website, Emirates Post retains all registered mail for up to 30 days, and express mail for up to 15 days. Parcels are retained for up to 60 days. Transit times can vary between 1 to 45 working days, depending on the type of service. Note that you are prohibited from shipping currency, drugs, cashier cheques, antiques, precious items, pharmaceuticals, passports, among other items. All items will be checked and inspected to ensure compliance. Know the full list of goods and prohibited items on the website.
