Hello,
I have a complaint to make. I went to the store today on London Road in Glasgow and bought paint Grey Steel, which had do be made in store. I was given 2×2.5L cans and 1x5L can and put them back to the back of the car behind the passenger seat on the floor. I was driving home and on a roundabout the 5L can fell on the side and the lid got opened and half of the paint went on the floor, but the other two cans didn’t open. I understand you do not take a responsibility for the paint after it leaves your store, but I believe the lid must have been faulty and it shouldn’t open that easily, I bought many paints from B&Q and had them on the floor and these never opened and had to use a screwdriver to open the lid, so I don’t understand how come your tin opened that easily. I paid £108 for these and now have to pay £95 to clean the car and on top of this need to get more paint. I called your store and the gentleman advised that yes the lid can open that easily, so why you don’t tell the customers then to be careful with these tins, this should have been highlighted to us at the point of purchase to secure the paint.
I am looking for some help and at least if you could offer some discount, so I can buy more paint.
Regards
Anna
Hi,
I was working on a house in Nottingham a while ago and just wanted to let you know about my experience of using Dulux wood paint for my door. I ended up at the local medical health centre in Nottingham, because I had the worst headache ever, felt very dizzy, throat itchy and was disorientated. Even the plumber who was working at the house checked if I was OK because he thought something was wrong. I told him I had to go out for a walk to get some fresh air and headache tablets. I then passed by the NHS drop-in health centre, and went in quite tearful. They checked me over and said they thought that I could have poisoning from the toxic fumes and that it would stay in my blood for a while. They suggested I should go to the casualty dept to get further checked out. I couldn’t get there because I was on my on and disorientated and didn’t really know where it was anyaway, as I don’t not live there. I was ill for about 3-4 days, not able to carry on with painting the house….. and returned home to Dorset (wasted journey / wasted time.) I had to go up again on another week when I had recovered. It really worried me when I then read that the tin paint can had to be disposed of in a particular way because of the chemicals in it. If it is hazardous to the environment, why allow humans to use it. I don’t think you should be selling paint with those chemicals in it. I’m normally quite a resilient and healthy person, but this really affected me. I will not be using Dulux paint anymore on my future house projects. I will switch over to Crown breath-easy.
