About DenizBank
One of the largest private banks in Turkey, DenizBank A.S. was founded in 1938 and operates from its headquarters at Istanbul. The bank was founded by the state to support the Turkish maritime industry. The bank, however, merged into Emlakbank, right after the government decided to consolidate state-owned banks in 1992. In 1997, the license of DenizBank was auctioned along with its three branch buildings. The bank was acquired by Zorlu Holding for $70 million.
