About Audible
Audible is a leading retailer of audiobooks, founded by Don Katz in 1995. Today, the company claims to be the world’s largest seller and producer of audiobooks. Part of the Amazon family, Audible offers exclusive and original series, short programmes, literary classics and much more. New users can start with a 30-day free trial and then upgrade to the premium plans. To explore the content you will need to download the Audible smartphone app for iOS or Android.
Members can own the audiobooks, swap an audiobook any time, and listen to documentaries and comedies unlimited times. The content can be listened online or offline. Simply download the audiobooks and podcasts to your app to listen without using data or WiFi. On the app, you can always pick up where you left off and even customise the narration speed. There is also a Sleep Timer to set. The selection of audiobooks includes history, fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, and biographies. Also filter content by Best Sellers, New Releases, and Audible Originals.
Before downloading or buying an audiobook, you can hear the sample clip. You also have a description with details of the book, along with reviews by other users. As for purchasing an audiobook, you can buy a title by using your account credit or by paying each time using Visa or Mastercard. The different Audible membership plans you will find include the 1 Book Monthly Membership, 2 Book Monthly Membership and 12/24 Book Annual Membership. Monthly membership plans can be placed on hold for up to three months.
Members can return or exchange a specific title for a different title within 365 days of the original date of purchase. The Great Listen Guarantee is a benefit available only to Audible credit plan members. For complaints or queries on subscription, payment, cancellation, technical support, or others, reach the Audible support.
The customer service at Audible is terrible. It has gone downhill rapidly in the last two years. Previously reps could engage you in conversation and problem resolution. Now they can not understand a word in English and hang up when asked for a supervisor. It is harder and harder to remain a member.
Can’t get any help or support.
I have sighed up with Audible again big mistake! I have wasted so much time trying to download a book and all as I get is the sample.
I was charged $17.49 , I was under the impression I was on a two week free trial.
I just signed up for the free trial and they charged me 1.81$ without notice. Customer service is only by phone call and you can’t call if you’re outside America. You can’t even find a customer service email or chat. How am I supposed to make a claim now? I am so disappointed. Also, I apparently used my credit without knowing. I never clicked on get this for one credit or anything of sorts. I just clicked on play a book, as if it was included in the subscription, and it was not and I used my one credit on that.
I cancelled my membership after checking and double checking that I wouldn’t lose my 6 credits. I was on the premier membership plan and EVERYTHING said I would be able to keep them. I cancelled it. And now I have ZERO credits. 6 months worth of payments wasted.
Your customer service is nonexistent!!!
I am trying to return a $5 book and it keeps taking me to the same page that you can’t access any one to help with a credit.
Very poor service for a reputable company!!
Audible had poor customer support I have had to deal with. They were extremely unhelpful in assisting me in canceling my unknown subscription and getting the refund for that. They did not have any whatsoever business decency in dealing with customers. After over 15 mins of back and forth nonsense the last rep I spoke with was going to transfer me and came back on the phone and said she was unable to and for me to just call back later.
I’ve been customer for 2-3 years. Why are you making returns harder now? I just picked 3 audibles using credits I have. I’ve decided 2 other audibles are too difficult to listen too and you won’t let me return unless I pick out a third and fourth audible now. I don’t know what I want now as I just purchased 3. I’ve always been able to return with an email. Now your site takes me in circles.
I signed up recently for Audible. I see there is an offer for a free month. I was charged for my first month. Can I take advantage of this offer?
