About Gold’s Gym
Gold’s Gym was founded by Joe Gold in the year 1965 in California. It is today one of the largest co-ed gym in the world. It has its presence in over 40 states in US, and 30 countries that includes Asia, Europe and Middle East. Gold’s Gym has a membership of more than 3 million. In total, there are over 600 gyms around the globe. The first Gold’s fitness center was opened in Venice Beach, California.
I have a Golds Gym membership in Baltimore MD and because of the COV19 all locations are closed. Even though I can’t access any location in the states because of mandatory closings, Gold’s is still processing the monthly membership fee on my account.
I try to call someone but cannot find a good customer service number for memberships, only equipment. I call corporate and get redirected to local clubs and they are all closed. SMH.
I have the exact same issue. Although our gym here in WA is closed and has been for sometime, I’m still getting my card processed right on schedule and can’t get in touch with anyone to stop it. I also notice that the website for my Gold’s has not updated at all and shows the schedule as if it is still open. I will not be paying for the time I cannot use the gym Gold’s and I doubt many of the other people being charged are going to take it either, so it might be better for you to get ahead of this and put a freeze on anyone’s account that has a membership in a state that has mandatory gym closures instead of pretending it isn’t happening…
I’m a charter member (opening day) of your Kingwood, Tx Gym. It is avery good gym but with two down sides. On your TVs there is no news station now (CNN or Fox) and also the very poor music selection. It sounds if some of the recording are being played backwards, some very loud and obnoxious..be nice to hear some classic pop or especially country music. I hear this from many or most of the seniors at this facility..be nice too if you had a coffee machine.
I would like to take a moment to throw a “shout out” and “thank you” to Sharese West, who works at the Gold’s Gym at 39 S. Altadena Dr. in Pasadena, California. She is always moving around and picking up items that other patrons have not put back in their proper spot (re-racking weights). I am a senior, and she has helped me locate handles and hardware so I would not have to go all over the place to find them. She is a godsend to me! I have noticed that the gym is tidier now than it has been in a while, and I go back many years in this location, back to the old World Gym!She always puts your customers first, sort of spoils us! Most of all, her smile makes the gym a more pleasant place to be! Hopefully this will get passed along to her, so she’ll know she is appreciated! As long as people like Sherece are working at Gold’s Pasadena, I will continue to recommend it to my friends and neighbors. Thank you!
I joined Gold Gym in Los Angeles for a full PT corporate membership. They took $2800 of my card and said because I am a corporate member I will not be billed monthly membership fees.
3 days later my work advised me I am being relocated and transferred to a different country permanently. I went to my local gym to cancel as RELOCATION is acceptable grounds in the Gold Gym contract for termination. A manager emailed me 3 times confirming my refund would be processed on the 6th June 2018. No that’s passed, no refund, no emails back to me and now they are billing me $39.00 monthly fees.
So many reports and bad reviews about Gold Gym. Something needs to be done about how they are treating their paying customers and their conduct.
I was working in Camrose, Alberta, Canada and located a gym which happened to be a Gold gym. I spoke to the guy at the desk and explained I didn’t want a membership because I was only working a 3 week job. He said okay and had me sign up. The next day I came to work out and the same guy asked me for my bank account info. I said no because I couldnt use a membership. He said okay. The 3rd time I arrived at the gym I was locked out and they said I couldn’t come in unless I gave them my bank accout info. I asked why they would need my bank account info when I wasn’t signing up for a membership. I left and never went back to that gym. A few months later I started receiving calls from a collection agency saying I owed Golds ‘Gym $2700 for memberhip fees. I phone the gym right away and asked to speak to the guy who had me sign papers. He doesn’t work there anymore…I explained to the manager I am 18 years old and did not want a membership. They said too bad…you owe us $2700. I am 18 years old and went to buy my first vehicle yesterday. Guess what! Great credit except for an outstanding Golds Gym Membership for @2700. What can I do?
. I am going to start a blog because I am sure they do this all the time!
I have had a membership with above mentioned gym for several months, i was no longer able to continue the membership and asked if there was a cancellation fee, which i was advised no but i can find someone to do a membership transfer.
It took me 2 months but finally i found someone, we went in to do the transfer at which time the manager then told us it must be a NEW member only not a previous member.
I asked to speak to the higher up manager in which i was told again the same thing, i asked to show me where in the contract does it mention that the membership transfer must be to a NEW member only. She was not able to provide me any document that states this, the only notes on the contract is that it is at the discretion of the manager. They have refused to assist me in anyway, i have tried to make arrangements and they refuse to co-operate.
I called Gold’s Gym in Beacons field and spoke to the manager there, she told me at her gym they make exceptions like this all the time and that the manager at Saint Laurent location is being unreasonable.
I bought a trainer 410 treadmill from Walmart in Sept of 2012 it is only 5.5 months old. It was making a loud humming noise and then it started to slow down and then speed up and finally it just stopped. I went back to Walmart and they said it was over 90 days and that I have to deal with the manufacturer. I live near Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Please let me know what I should do.
