About EgyptAir
EgyptAir was founded in the year 1932 and is Africa’s largest airline, operating from its base at Cairo International Airport. The airline currently flies to over 70 destinations including Asia and the Americas. Egypt Air’s subsidiaries include EgyptAir Express, EgyptAir Cargo and EgyptAir Tourism & Duty Free Shops. In 2008, EgyptAir became the 21st member of Star Alliance.
On 30 June flight MS839 from Cairo to Johannesburg was delayed by 2 hours, resulting in us missing our connection flight. The scheduled flight was due to land in Johannesburg at 07:10 on July 1st, and my connection was at 09:35 to Durban on flight SA543.
Prior to leaving Cairo at 00:55, an Egyptair representative presented us with new boarding information. And my connection was now on SA575 leaving Johannesburg at 18:45 on 1st July. This means that my transit was more than 10 hours in Johannesburg. The representative informed us that Egyptair would provide hotel accommodation during transit.
On arrival in South Africa the representatives there confirmed the connections as given prior to boarding in Cairo, but denied that hotel accommodation has been arranged. Some of us respected this message and left, having to pay our own hotel accommodation. Those that continued to fight the ground staff were later given hotel vouchers.
The question is why were we treated with disrespect? Will Egyptair refund us for spending our own money to be accommodated in the hotel whilst waiting for the connection flights?
I use Egyptair regularly for business travel and I feel the company did not care enough for its customers, and will in future consider other options of travel due to this unsavoury experience.
I flew from Cairo to Accra on Egypt Air only to get to Accra and baggage did not come through. I was asked to come to the airport the next day and still no baggage, the following did not have any flights coming through so this means that I will be without my baggage for 3 days. I have called every number listed on Egypt Air website and not once has anyone picked up. I am an avid traveller and this is the first time ever that this is happening. I am so disappointed in this airline, I’m never taking it again and I will make sure I tell everyone I know about my experience

Misbehavior from your Business class steward.
I travelled in the mentioned flight and my health condition was so bad due to my sleepless work schedule. After take off I asked the flight attendant (“Female”-Name not know as she rejected to show her ID car when asked) to give a blanket and without any reply she went back to her seat reading news paper. After that I pressed the attendant call button twice for which she never responded purposefully. I feel pity to such attitude of a reputed airlines like yours. Request you to take strict disciplinary action against such staff. If this is the conduct of your staff with Business class flyers I can assume what will be with the economy class passengers. Also when asked to show her ID card she covered the same and rejected to show her name.
