Aadhaar is a unique identification number issued to the citizens of India, which serves as an identity proof. Aadhaar is also used to gain access to various welfare schemes initiated by the government of India. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is the issuing authority for Aadhaar. Every resident of India can enroll for an Aadhaar card by registering at an Aadhaar center or a post office. You can then download the e-Aadhaar by using the enrollment number, or the virtual ID issued by UIDAI.

How to order reprint?
UIDAI launched the reprint services on a pilot basis, enabling people to order their Aadhaar reprints following a nominal payment. The service is useful for people who have misplaced or lost their cards. Earlier the reprint service was not available, but you can avail it now for a nominal charge of 50 rupees. You can also order reprint from a verified or non-registered number, but you wonโ€™t be able to preview the details in the latter case.

After you visit the official UIDAI website, navigate to the ‘Aadhaar servicesโ€™ tab where you will find an โ€˜order Aadhaar reprint’ option. Click on it and enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number or the 16 digit VID number. If your mobile number is registered, you will receive an OTP, and you can proceed to verify it. Once the OTP is verified, select the box agreeing on the terms and conditions, make the payment, and you are good to go.

If your mobile number is not verified, you can enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number or the 16 digit VID number, and check the box which indicates that you do not have the registered mobile number with you. You have to enter an alternate number to receive an OTP. However, you wonโ€™t be able to verify or preview your Aadhaar details before making the payment. You will receive a 28 digit SRN code after payment. You can use this code to track the status of your reprint.
