Madrid Barajas Airport, also known as Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, is the primary international airport serving Madrid, the capital of Spain. It covers an area of approximately 3,050 hectares (or 7,540 acres), and has a total of four terminals.

An Overview of the Terminals
Madrid Barajas Airport has a total of four terminals, all of which are located within the airport complex.
Terminal 1 (T1) has expanded and been renovated several times since it opened to the public. It is primarily used by non-Schengen international flights (Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland, Romania, and the UK), and is connected to terminals 2 and 3 by a pedestrian walkway.
Low-cost carriers, such as Ryanair and Wizz Air use Terminal 2 (T2). It is connected to terminals 1 and 3 by a pedestrian walkway.
Terminal 3 (T3) is used by both Schengen (most of the EU countries except the ones mentioned in an earlier paragraph) and non-Schengen flights and is connected to terminals 1 and 2 by a pedestrian walkway.
Terminal 4 (T4) is divided into two main buildings โ T4 and T4S. It is the airport’s main terminal, handling most of the international flights. T4S (detached from other airport buildings) is a satellite terminal connected to T4 by an underground train.
