I cannot describe the incompetence of this company. As executor of my parents estate they have been an absolute nightmare to deal with! They have made multiple mistakes transferring funds from my parents estate to me and my brothers and it’s impossible to find a supervisor to help rectify this situation.
We are a day away from losing the house we’re under contract for. Vanguard is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen from any company. Call backs 24 to 48 hours later. Supervisors can’t be contacted. No other departments to launch an official complaint. Inexperienced customer service reps and apparently no one is with to make sure they give accurate information.
We spoke with a supervisor a few times and were delayed on our closing because Alfred called at 530 on Friday. We called multiple times Monday trying to let someone know the severity of our situation, “we can’t do anything. A supervisor will call you, sorry you feel that way!” Were promised a call within 30 min ls to an hour at 630p, it never came. We were told multiple times our money would be expedited and have not even received a courtesy call of that not happening.
We’ll lose our contract due to Vanguard’s negligence and have no where to stay, with three small kids. At the end of the day, and seeing some of the other comments, Vanguard HAS to change their policies. It should never take this awful of encounter to make people come and review. Have plans in place, have people who can actually help be reachable.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. My son-in-law is the beneficiary of his dad’s 401 k. He said he has called multiple times and is repeatedly told he will get a call back in 3 to 5 business days. I just called to see what the problem was and if I could be of any help. All I got was transfered to reps who told me to call the same number I already called. Very frustrating.
After reading the comments here I no longer feel paranoid that I’ve been singled out for horrendously bad service, it is what it is….just bad service. I have been trying to update a phone number that we deleted and replaced two months ago with no luck, ergo; I have been unable to access the account for two months for funds for my husbands nursing care.
I’ve been locked out of my accounts for over 48hrs. I’ve called 3X’s to no avail. Finally asked to speak to a supervisor. None available I was told after being on hold for 20 minutes. Pretty crappy customer service!! Might be time to switch to another investment company?
I started out enrolling in e-delivery. Then couldn’t get into my account. It was the first time I needed a security code. I couldn’t get one. The girl tried and then transferred me to assistance. He tried to send code on phone–nothing came thru—tried again—nothing. I was on hold (with horrible music) four over 45 minutes. Then my phone went blank. This is more than poor professionalism. I am a professional and would never act this way.
Vanguard remains incommunicado. Forgot my password and now I am stuck. Only way to initiate new password is through an email from Vanguard. Problem is my email address has changed so I am basically non existent. Can’t find any link on line for a Vanguard email address and have wasted HOURS on the phone. Shame on you Vanguard. Your customer service is worse than both the IRS and DMV. How about investing your own money on a reliable phone system? No excuse for an entity as large and successful as Vanguard.
You keep sending me surveys asking how you can improve your site but they are only rating stars. If you want to improve do something that many other financial sites do already. Other investment sites such as Etrade have a section on “Estimated Income” on every account. I can see at a glance my yearly dividend income. Etrade displays a bar chart for dividend income for every month. YOUR site has NOTHING that I can find even close to that!!! I would think Vanguard would be far ahead of a company like competitors.
Absolutely the worst customer service of all time. Every time I call, it’s always over 1-2 hours wait!!!! Then when u get someone, they are not in the U.S. and can only provide canned responses. Vanguard needs to do way better than this. A multi billion dollar company and it cannot even provide the basic standard of customer service: answer your phone within 5 minutes and provide great service!
Spent over an hour on hold this am waiting for rep. Called back at 3pm says approx hold time 2hours and 40 mins! Totally absurd I need my account unlocked as I put incorrect pswd several times. Who has 4 hours a day to sit waiting on VanGuard absolute horrible customer service.
Called late February to rollover my 401k from a previous employer from Vanguard to Fidelity (thank god I could finally do that) and Vanguard supposedly sent a check to Fidelity on 02/23. It is now a month later and Fidelity never for the check. Called Vanguard customer service just now and waited for over an hour to get someone on the phone. She proceeded to tell me that she couldn’t help me because she doesn’t handle employer accounts. Why did I get routed to her when I had already entered all of my account information???? I tell her that before she transfers me that I want to tell her exactly why I am calling so that I don’t have to wait on the phone for another hour unnecessarily. I can tell she really doesn’t give a crap and I’ll probably be transferred to someone else who “can’t help me”. So she “transfers” me and about 30 minutes later the call just ends. I spent an hour and a half waiting for nothing and now I am back on the line which is telling me that my estimated wait time is another 40 minutes. That is what it said the first time I called and it took over an hour just to get someone. I’ll be overjoyed once I have severed ties with them completely.
I was on hold for 3 hours with Vanguard customer service for a password change. Then I was cut off without a resolution. I have been trying to access my account for a solid week. EVERYTIME I call its a solid 2 hour hold. I call in the am, pm, and mid-day. I CAN NOT wait on hold for hours at my job and there are no weekend hours. Vanguard has the ABSOLUTE WORSE customer service of any company I have dealt with. I have seen horrible reviews for this terrible company and it is justified.
Took Vanguard two weeks to post IRA transfer to my account after they had it in there system.
Spent literally 3-4 hours trying to get an answer and never did get a educated answer.
Was promised the money was invested in the fund I wanted but two weeks later when finally posted in my account the money wasn’t invested as I was promised costing me thousands of dollars because the market was thriving at that specific time.
Horrendous customer service. sent an ira deposit a month ago still hasn’t showed up. called numerous times. put on eternal hold each time only to be told I need to call someone else and start all over. put on eternal hold there too. was promised a week ago it would be fixed by this Tuesday. it is now Thursday with no end in sight. was PROMISED a phone call back this am, never got it. I don’t think anyone there has a clue what they are doing.
I would like to know why my online access to my IRA Account Information has been blocked. If I am to continue to have Vanguard manage my funds I need to have my access restored. I have been trying to no avail to get help on this matter for days, weeks, etc. It has been nearly 2 months now since I have had online access.
