Opened in the year 1954, the rapid transit has 4 lines connecting to over 70 stations. Serving over 1 million commuters each day, the TTC is the second busiest rapid transit network in the country. TTC operates some 700 subway and RT cars. The trains operate from 6am to 1.30am (except weekends and holidays). Free Wi-Fi is available in all TTC subway stations.

The subway lines consist of Yonge–University, Bloor-Danforth, Scarborough RT and Sheppard. Commuters can easily travel from downtown Toronto to Pearson Airport with a single TTC fare. Tickets can be purchased at collector booths and through vending machines at stations using credit/debit cards or cash. There are Single fare tickets, Weekly Pass and Monthly Metropass. There are special senior and student fares for discounted travel. Get the Metropass for unlimited travel on all TTC services.
