About Ray-Ban India
RayBan Sun Optics India Limited engages in the manufacture and trading of optical frames and sunglasses under the Ray-Ban brand name primarily in India. The company was incorporated in 1990 and is based in Gurgaon, India. RayBan Sun Optics India Limited is a subsidiary of Luxottica U.S. Holdings Corp.
They are the retailers of the famous aviator sunglasses. Aviator sunglasses are a special style of sun shades that were developed by the lens maker Bausch & lomb, sold under the brand name of Ray-Ban. They are characterized by dark lenses having an area two or three times the area of the eyeball, and thin metal frames with double or triple bridge and bayonet earpieces or flexible cable temples that hook behind the ears. The original design features G-15 tempered glass lenses, i.e., neutral gray. The large lenses are not flat but slightly convex. They have become a style statement in India after the bollywood actor Salman Khan sported them in the movie Dabang and its sequel. The other sunglasses sold by them are the popular wayfarers, Jackie ohh and clubmaster. They also retail highly attractive and colorful sunglasses for kids. Most of the sunglasses by Ray-Ban are polarized, reducing glare.
They are also the retailers of vision corrective glasses with a variety of frames that are trendy and stylish. The frames have been classified into the following categories: Active Lifestyle, Highstreet, Tech and Icon.
Intensive and Rigorous research and development has resulted in lenses that provide clarity and comfort and are highly durable. The Lab innovation has given birth to the following frames.
Memoray Frames : They are said to “withstand all kinds of abuse”. Flexibility is their specialty. Also, they are lightweight, strong and comfortable.
Carbon Fibre Frames : Known for their light weight and strength, they are the new trend. Also they stand apart from other frames due to the fact that they are not welded so they can withstand a life time of opening and closing without breaking.
Light Ray Frames : They are “ Lighter thinner and stronger” . Being nickel free, these frames are hypoallergenic. The exclusive monoblock hinges are manufactured without screw giving the users a happy chance to bid farewell to loose screws.
Lite force Frames : Lite force frames feature PK001, a thermoplastic polymer processed at high temperature, Ray-Ban pioneering in its usage in manufacturing of eye wears.
Titanium Frames : These frames are hypoallergenic , lightweight and strong. Reach the Ray-Ban customer care for further information.
It pains my heart to see that Ray Ban my favourite brand with which I was associated for past two decades has failed in customer satisfaction. I bought ladies Ray Ban shades from a Titan discount sale being conducted in an army officers mess 5 months back. Once my wife was moving around when it started raining. The shooting of the Ray Ban goggles glass started coming out. We were totally surprised and reported the matter from where we had bought the Ray Ban. Also spoke to Divya Bank customer care who was very positive when is approach but zero in his action. After 3 months Titan Eye Plus has repaired the Ray Ban frame with a Titan Eye Plus glass and returned to us. This is a big joke and dissatisfaction to the customer. I will kindly request you to please look into the matter and resolve the issue at the earliest.
Dear RayBan (Customer Service)
I have been wondering how to complain to you. In 2007, I bought a pair of blue RayBan Aviators from Dayal Opticals in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, India. They were the most expensive on display at that time, and I really liked them. I do not use sunglasses everyday, thus these remain sparingly used, and are in a scratchless condition. I have a few other pairs of RayBan Aviators (AmberMatic) which were gifted to me by my parents, which are almost 40 years old, and in perfect condition even today. I take great care of all my sunglasses. I do not wear sunglasses everyday, unless I am driving long distances or traveling. But, whenever I wear them, I clean them and dry them before keeping them back in the case. Thus, when I take them out to use, they feel crisp, clean and good in my hand and I find them sparkling and shining every time.
However, recently I noticed that the stalks of my blue aviators started disintegrating and became powdery. I took them back to Dayal Opticals who is still an authorised dealer and asked him why this was happening. The representative advised me that RayBan has discontinued this model, and would not provide service. However, they deposited my sunglasses and later gave them back to me with after-market stalk coverings which look shabby and are very uncomfortable to wear. Moreover, in the process, they have also damaged my sunglasses, which make them ugly to wear. I complained about this while taking delivery, and the representative suggested that the damaged portion won’t be really visible. He did a lot of things to try and twist the frame in ways so it becomes comfortable to use but to no recourse. The scratched portion (which he does not agree to) is visible on the side between my eyes and ears when I wear them.
What’s the point of wearing Aviators if they make you look bad, and the product looks shoddy? After having seen Aviators all my life, this was the first pair that I had bought proudly, with trust that RayBan is a good brand that makes timeless fashion that you can wear for a lifetime. But this one piece is an eye-sore in my collection, and I feel bad that I have not been provided the service that I was expecting from a brand like RayBan. It’s not that I can do much if RayBan does not provide service, but I am still writing this here as a last resort. It’s also a very time consuming process to sit and write down a complaint and find a way to communicate. So please let me know if you can do something about this.
Thanks.
PS: I’ve tried posting this on your facebook page as well along with photographs of the shoddy service I’ve received, but not received a response.
I purchased Ray ban from abroad last year, (Qatar ) do have the invoice also, left side stick broken, need to repair the frame, from South Delhi, from where did i get it repaired, need assistance….
We are very disappointed with the after sales customer response and service of the Collective store in Ambience Mall Delhi. We had bought a Ray ban sunglasses from the store worth Rs 11K in May 2015. The Ray ban company gives one year warranty. On folding the frame the inner film of left lens gets scratches. We went to the store to help us out and Ms. Taranjeet said she will revert back in 2-3 days but nothing came from their side. This is a month back story. Then we called at Ray ban customer care n they were ready to rectify our problem they said to send d product through the store so we went back again at Collective. This time the manager Mr. Bright Dahiya # 7838309496 said he can’t do anything. We told him dat the company person has asked them to send d product but he was so stubborn he didn’t do saying they deal with Luxotica n not Ray ban. He said he will call with in next 24 hrs but it has been a week we haven’t got any call from them. We feel The Collective store the so called high-end brand store sales FAKE products. For a working class person who buys only with the trust for the brand n the store I am highly disappointed and feel cheated. Will request everyone to please first check the genuineness of the products u buy from collective and in writing a statement from the store about their services n warranty statements. Please be careful while shopping at collective. Don’t just see the store name n trust them..
I know you might get lot of these emails and this will be one of them. As a cheated customer it will lighten up some burden from my heart to write it down on your portal.
I have not been cheated by Ray-Ban but an online shopping site called BOOKMYOFFER. This website is selling off cheap and local glasses with the brand name of Ray Ban. I know that this is none of your business but it always gives a negative marketing for Ray-Ban also. I got cheated and thought that apart from sending them written complaints and a legal notice by consumer court I should also inform you guys on your name being used for fake products.

Also, can it be replaced? I have warranty card and bills.

Dear Sir,
I purchased a Ray ban spectacle frame (Model no.Ray ban RB 8724-1000-54017) from Snap Deal on 12-07-15 Vide invoice number D310AD/15-/4237 by a seller called NAVRANG OP, Gondiwali, Mankoli Naka, Bhiwandi Thane, Maharastra-421320. To my surprise, The coating of the ? carbon frame handle is pealing off at the rear end. It is rimless frame and it is not cheap either. Could it be a fake one?? or you product are not quality controlled. Even ordinary frame, in the past had lasted for several year without such problem. Now What is the Solution for such problem??
