About Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)
PBS is an American public broadcasting television network founded in 1969. PBS, which is short for Public Broadcasting Service, is a non-profit service with 330 member TV stations. The stations are spread across all 50 states and include noncommercial and educational licensees. Founded by Hartford N Gunn Jr, the channel has its headquarters at Arlington, Virginia. The membership organisation’s vision is to offer programming of the “highest quality, using media to educate, inspire, entertain and express a diversity of perspectives”.
PBS’ programming has a wide reach across US, with more than 230 million people having access to the channel. The network claims that over 120 million people watch their local PBS stations each month. PBS’ programming of art, literature, history, culture and science also reaches 33 million people on web, Android and iOS platforms. I am so very happy to see Tamara Keith and Amy Cook back on the News Hour. Hope to see them often. My husband and I don’t miss a news night. We believe both sides of an issue are brought up for discussion.
I really enjoy Masterpiece and the mystery shows. However you program them on Saturday and Sunday, 3 in a row each night!
It would be nice to have a few during the week. That way it would be something to look forward too.
