Hi Obey your Body, I am writing as I am disgusted by the hard sell treatment my sister received from an Obey Your Body consultant at Bristol Airport, England. My sister is recently bereaved and very fragile. She left my home to travel by air to visit our brother in Northern Ireland. At the airport she was really trying to be anonymous as she was very upset to be travelling alone. A representative called Andrea physically took her hand and pulled her to the stall, and when my sister tried to say she was not interested Andrea repeatedly grabbed her hand and fast talked her. My sister was traumatised by the whole thing, and just trying to not cry in public. Application of the gel to her hands and being told “look at the dirt coming off your skin” was very humiliating for my sister. Eventually after failing to get away after a few attempts my sister paid £180 for products she couldn’t really afford at this difficult time. She gave the products to me as she couldn’t bare to look at them. Disgraceful hard selling to an obviously vulnerable woman – Shame!
After a high pressure sales pitch, I recently bought some products from Bristol airport, upon collecting them after my return from holiday I said I couldn’t really afford them at this time and asked for a refund. I was told I could not have one. if I wanted one I would need to book a flight and go back into departures as the machine would only work there! which is totally ridiculous.
I had 2 salesmen, who wanted to keep giving me more free products, but would not refund me although it was within my rights to do so.
where do I stand now ? I have spent £150.00 on goods which I cannot afford. I need a refund but not sure how to go about it. I was really upset with their attitude towards me , I was on my own with my daughter and ended up having to walk away. I’m not sure if this is standard practice for your company or just this particular team.
I would advise people to think seriously before they bought from Obey Your Body if this is the case.
