About National Police
National Police is the primary law enforcement agency in France and has been operating since the year 1966. Locally known as Police Nationale, the federal agency is headquartered at Paris and is governed by the Cabinet of France. It is responsible to the Ministry of the Interior. Headed by the Director General, the National Police is divided into several directorates like Directorate of Resources and Competences of the National Police, Central Directorate of the Judicial Police, Anti-Terrorism Sub-Directorate, Central Directorate of Border Police, General Inspectorate of the National Police and Counter terrorism Struggle Coordination Unit.
The Central Directorate of the Judicial Police is responsible for crime investigations.
