About Muthoot Finance Ltd
In the year 1939, M. George Muthoot established Muthoot M. George & Brothers (MMG) along with his sons George Thomas Muthoot, George Jacob Muthoot and George Alexander Muthoot as a Chit Fund based out of Kozhencherry in Kerala. Renamed as Muthoot Bankers in 1971, the firm began financing loans with gold jewellery as collateral. In 2001, the company was renamed yet again as Muthoot Finance Ltd., a name it bears till date, when it received a license from the RBI to function as a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC). Later, the company obtained a fresh RBI license to function as an NBFC without accepting public deposits. Today, the company has over 4,050 branches spread across 23 states of the country. The company provides both personal and business loans primarily to individuals who possess gold jewellery but could not access formal credit through normal means. Myself Deepu from Gudalur โ I have obtained two wheeler finance from Muthoot (Loan Number 16161628 โ Name Deepu Balan) for 18 months duration, currently I have repaid all my EMIโs and still from Gudalur branch they are requesting me to pay 1551 Rs for getting NOC, this is my issue right now. Let me explain in detail what actually happened:
I am working Coimbatore, where I couldnโt visit the gudalur branch and pay my EMIโs on the specified date, so during loan processing I requested Muthoot gudalur manager (Shinoj) that ECS payment mode is required for me. He said yes its available , we are also encouraging ECS mode to our customers, so I have signed all my documents including ECS forms everything and my loan got approved and I took the vehicle delivery, 1st month EMI message came to my mobile along with another message that my ECS has got rejected, so I got an call from your customer care mentioning that ECS is rejected please pay at branch, I paid the 1st EMI in branch and asked manger whats the issue? He said, We have some internal system issue because of that only it got rejected next month it will automatically get ready. So I thought it may be due to some technical glitches. 2nd month I have received same message, and call from customer care stating payment has not received and ECS rejected, I said i have already given all details for ECS deduction, they said some internal issue, then I asked whether you will be charging me late payment fee for this ECS rejected, at this time they confirmed me no we wont since its our internal issue (Please hear the customer service call recording available at your end) I went to manager and asked whats this again same message came, he said this month also please pay in branch next month will get ready , with him also I checked on the late payment fee, he said no , its our issue, Like this 6 months I follow up with your branch they didnโt give any resolution for my issue, I have also paid all my dues in branch.
Now why you are collecting or asking me to pay late payment fee because of your internal issue.
I was trying to explain this issue to your new manager who replaced Shinoj โ really I had a very worse experience with your manager, I wonder how your recruitment team has selected him as manager, no customer service mind set, no patience in resolving or understanding the issue, instead routing – go to Coimbatore head office / Ernakulum Head office. I have taken loan in Gudalur branch but when I have issue I need to go and seek help from different branch what a logic.
