About Lifetouch
Lifetouch is a portrait photography company whose history can be traced back to over 80 years. Founded as National School Studios in 1935, Lifetouch specialises in taking pictures for school events. Today, part of Shutterfly Inc, Lifetouch also offers photography services for yearbooks, sports and special events. It has a large network of photographers across the country, serving more than 10 million households. The company, founded by Eldon Rothgeb and Bruce Reinecker, operates from its headquarters at Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The school photography leader photographs more than 25 million students annually at over 50 thousand schools.
For an overview of the services, Lifetouch can help capture those key milestones of children through preschool. Further, you can order photography services for clicking memories and achievements from kindergarten to graduation. Need senior portraits? The Prestige Portraits, another division of Lifetouch, has studios across the US that capture moments with plenty of backgrounds and creative lighting options. You can schedule an appointment online and visit the studio to photograph a senior portrait. Hard copies of the photographs will be sent to your address in two to three weeks. You will also receive an email with a link to view them online. The Standard package will give up to 3 backgrounds to choose and about 10-12 images.
Lifetouch’s services also include photography for church communities and sports events. There is a separate division of Lifetouch for special events like graduation day, theater, choir or dance program. Ordering K-12 school photos can be done online. Parents can browse MyLifeTouch.com where you can enter your Portrait Day ID and access code to order photos. The access code and portrait ID can be used for up to 9 months after Picture Day. For ordering preschool photos, Lifetouch has a different portal. The same goes with senior portraits, yearbooks and special events. Customers can use Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express to order photos. You can also pay by cash or check using the order form. Pictures of Picture Day will be sent within 3-4 weeks. Note that once an order is placed, it cannot be cancelled. For complaints or queries on payment, cancellation, refund, or others, reach the Lifetouch support.
Lifetouch never disappointed me until now. My daughter took pictures at her Elementary school and her Teacher left a note for me to contact Lifetouch because they printed her pictures super blurry. I was able to get a hold of someone who was extremely rude towards me catching an attitude when the company messed up my daughter pictures. The supervisor offered to resend the pictures for free. I waited patiently and received blurry pictures today Friday,April 14, 2023 yet AGAIN! This is super frustrating and at this point I’d like to be fully refunded.
This has been a nightmare to get my son’s pictures. I’ve been contacting them endlessly and they have ensured my order is on its way and being processed for a month. I ordered his pictures in August his picture day was the beginning of October and I still haven’t gotten his pictures. All the other kids in his class have theirs already. So I contacted them again today and they inform me that they are going to have to REORDER my pictures today. So I asked for them to be expedited since I’ve already have waited so long and they should already be here. They assured me they would and I’d get them in 2-4 weeks. I checked to see what the normal speed was it is 3-4 weeks. So the expedition of them is pretty much nonexistent. Then I asked if I could at least download the photo since it’s been paid for for 3 months and I must wait 24-72 hours to be able to download.
I am very disappointed to log on to Lifetouch to see my 10 year old’s digital photo. Her eyes are CLOSED! Not just a little, but completely shut. She said the photographer wasn’t very pleasant, and out of three photos that were snapped, Lifetouch decided to pick that one. This is why I don’t prepay these pictures! Your photography missed the mark yet again.
I ordered school pictures on 9/21/22 that were taken of my daughter on 8/24/22. It’s now 10/18/22 and I haven’t received any photos yet. I just went on my LifeTouch account where it shows past orders made to you guys and I’m only seeing orders that were made up until 2 years ago, nothing from this year. I have my confirmation email showing I paid for a package so I was wondering what’s going on and if there are photos that are on their way. I just tried going through your automated bot chat service and it can’t find my order which is a little concerning.
Just received my kindergartner’s photos back. The pictures are cut incorrectly- meaning, 3/4 of her head is on one sheet, and the remaining 1/4 of her head is on the next sheet. It’s nearly impossible to find a customer service number, but when I finally located one and called, the agent told me he didn’t see what the problem was. He agreed to send me a replacement sheet, provided I don’t mind waiting 6-8 weeks!
My daughters (2) took their picture a couple of weeks ago with Lifetouch. I have since received the digital copy of my kindergartener’s (over a week ago), which nobody could bother to make sure her hair was positioned nicely may I add, but have yet to receive my second graders. If you go on our parent page, I’m clearly not the only one without pictures. This has impacted SEVERAL families at our school. Several parents have called, some have been told that their orders were lost, some that their child was absent (obviously not) and others, that it’s still processing. Most were met with rude and short staff members. In addition, we were told to wait for retakes. Why? Why have we been told to wait for retakes? Why should we wait for a company that obviously lost several pictures, to possibly get it right the second time? What if our child is sick for retakes? What if we don’t like the pictures that we’ve already paid for? There aren’t typically retakes for retakes, correct? Do better! Get it together!
I’m so disappointed with my child’s pictures. My daughter wears glasses and the photographer moved the arms of her glasses up her head so the glasses look photoshopped (badly) on her face. Apparently they did this with all the students and teachers. A good photo made goofy.
I just want to say I’m so disappointed with Lifetouch ! During football season we got our photos after the season was over ! Now with spring sports with pictures taken in march we still have not received the pictures, not being able to use professional pictures for my senior board on senior nite !!! If your short help can’t you make it where people can pay a fee to have access to the photos and get them printed ourself ??? $120 for spring sports than what I spent on football pics..so aggravated with all this.
My child had his grad photos taken at Wilfrid Laurier Univ in Waterloo, Ontario. The photographer was clearly an amateur. Every photo in the proof set had dark a dark shadow on one side of his face. I asked if the photos could be fixed and they offered to do so for $30 per shot. The photographer does crap work and the company wants to charge $30? Really?
Today I received my kid’s kindergarten photo from his school. We are not satisfied with his photo. His photo reaction is not good. The photographer didn’t capture the smiley moment. He should have help kids to get the right photo.we wasted our money. I don’t know how he confirmed that the photo is good.
Today I received a picture of my child taken with friends and two teachers, I am really sorry to say: The picture is very bad, the background is black, people wearing dark shirts will match the background. If the picture is so damaged, why give it to the customer? This is Lifetouch’s professionalism? If I used that money to support the school, it would make much more sense to receive a damaged photo, proving one thing that Lifetouch doesn’t respect the customer and thinks the customer will know nothing ?
I ordered soccer pics of my son because we had to order before they took them. Then they sent the wrong kid!!! The other kids’ parents didn’t order pics, so they got the ones I paid for! I’ve used lifetouch for years and ordered many times & never had an issue. Now I can’t even get anybody during business hours and no one will respond to my email!
I placed a $50 order and realized I forgot the SAVEFIVE promo coupon (my fault I know) but I figured it should be an easy fix.
I called the 1-800 2x waiting over 10 minutes each time and was disconnected on the 2nd call. I then tried to do a ‘Live Chat where I waited a good 10 minutes before chatting with anyone. Finally, I was able to ask if the promo could be added or have the $5 credit back to me.
AGAIN, I was placed on hold and after almost 10 more minutes then was told that nothing could be done until after 24 hours of purchase. I’ve never been been told this by any reputable company. Common sense tells me most people will not go through the trouble (waiting 20 min) just for $5. Sounds to me like that’s l a part of their business model? $5 adds up fast. And don’t even get me started on last years pictures. I paid to have my teen sons lightly retouched and when pics came it was just a blurry smudge on half his face. Insulting.
I understand that this type of business is being phased out in the digital age, but it doesn’t mean you can’t run a decent business with the time left. My middle school student was told today to “sit like a lady.” She does not identify as a “lady” and started feeling bad about getting her photo taken because she wouldn’t “sit like a lady.” The photographer was rude to her asking if she really wanted to get her photo taken sitting in a relaxed way. The photographer snapped a few pics and told my child they looked terrible and she wouldn’t take any more photos because people were waiting. She then told my child that it wasn’t her (the photographer’s) fault she took a bad photo. My child went to the bathroom and locked herself in to text me it was the worst day of her life. Thanks Lifetouch, maybe it’s past time you went out of business with your antiquated mind-set and rude employees.
Every time I order pictures from Lifetouch, I regret it. They do not have professional photographers.
This customer service really stinks! You need to do a much better job talking to people who are having difficulties??Do a much better job with customer service.
No one answers your phones, no one responds to chart line, you can’t get anyone at all in your company. I served 25 years as a high school principal in Minnesota and have always used Lifetouch. What has happened to this company. No one responds!
I obviously now know why they don’t have a customer service line where you could talk to an actual person. The quality of the first picture were horrible, so naturally I wanted them redone. Now they’re saying there is no valid order number.
I loved Lifetouch taking our children’s pictures in school, until this year. I always right a note for teachers or the crew to make sure my daughters hair isn’t sticking out anywhere or whatever might go wrong. I just want as close to great as we can get. This year my daughter brought home pictures and I couldn’t wait to see them. When I opened them I was surprised. HER hair was sticking out of only one side. This long piece of hair out of nowhere. All it would have took is a pin a tuck and hello great picture. Im really disappointed this year. I was really expecting great work but that didn’t happen. Im just sorry I can’t take them over.
I really wish I could get a hold of someone at this company. It’s really frustrating to get emails from you when I haven’t been able to talk with anybody about pictures for my daughter for TWO months. This is terrible customer service.
I ordered the $15/$16 school picture packages and sent in payment one picture day, one has been cashed, the other pending. All I got was proofs as if payments wasn’t made and was. Was supposed to be a couple of wallets and a 5×7 in that package I ordered on both and never got the pictures I paid for, it’s not right to receive proofs whenever actual pictures were paid for. Please inbox me and fix this problem. Thank you.
