About Library of Celsus
The Library of Celsus is a popular tourist attraction in Turkey, serving as the resting place of Roman emperor Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus. The ancient Roman building in Ephesus is now part of Anatolia, Turkey and was built in 135 AD by Julius Aquila. The mausoleum-library has scrolls of the manuscripts that were kept in cupboards. It was one of the largest libraries of the ancient world and could host more than 12,000 scrolls. The library was burnt during the 3rd century by the Goths. It was later restored by the Austrian Archaeological Institute. For more information or queries on tickets, timings, transportation or others, reach the Library of Celsus customer service.
