About Jeep
Jeep was founded by Willys-Overland in the year 1941. Jeep’s heritage can be traced back to World War II when its vehicles were primarily used by the United States military. In 1987, Chrysler Group purchased the Jeep brand from American Motors Corporation. One of the oldest SUV in the world, Jeep celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2011.
The Jeep vehicle lineup consists of the Compass, Grand Cherokee, Liberty, Patriot, Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited. All Jeep models are sold outside North America. Further, the Chrysler Group LLC sells and services Jeep vehicles in some 120 countries around the world. The Chrysler Group is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
I am writing this to express my love and admiration for your cars, especially the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has always been my dream car, and I was fortunate enough to purchase one a few years ago. I have been a loyal customer of your brand for many years now, and I have always appreciated the quality and durability of your vehicles.
However, I am facing a problem with my Jeep Grand Cherokee. As you may know, I live in Kuwait, and the cost of repairing cars here is very high. Unfortunately, my car needs some repairs related to its differential part, which is quite expensive here. Due to this reason, I am unable to repair my car as it would cost me a lot of money.
I have a 2016 Jeep Patriot. It has been awful from day one, and now my radio has gone out. I’ve been looking on different sites and it seems like this is a normal problem, why doesn’t Jeep recall this radio that’s having all of these issues? I have had this car for 2 years and I have had to put more money in it than it’s probably worth, I feel like everything that I fixed on this car. At least my radio could work.
My 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk has been an absolute nightmare. Its been in the shop for recalls to be fixed. The service 4wd light comes on and goes off daily. A mechanic diagnosed the TPU as being faulty. Jeep said it is fixed because they flashed it. It was never replaced and is still messed up. The recall for the leak was fixed as well but 2 days ago when we had a heavy downpour, my Cherokee had about 4 gallons of water in the spare tire area and cubby storage. This has resulted in my electronic parking brake failing to disengage. I have called Jeep customer service and been told basically at his point I have to pay for the recall repairs because they were “fixed”. There is even an open PTU recall for the repaired PTU due to issues with the replacement parts.
We are vacation when the air suspension system went. We have Jeep Grand Cherokee L 202: with about 5,000 on it. The dealer in Jackson, Wy. had to order the part and told us when it would be done. Well the dealership didn’t live up to their promise. We had a this trip planned for 1 1/2 years. They don’t seem to want to help us so we can continue on a life time journey. We are stuck in a hotel while the reservations made last year go unused. Calling Jeep Customer Service is a joke.
I am so sorry that happened. They are the worst!!! My 2020 Jeeep Wrangler is under warranty and it’s a piece of crap. It has been out of commission for something as simple as a seat back that will not go into place. we are going on 3 weeks now.
Hopefully by now you are aware of the ongoing issue with axle seal leaks on gladiators. Mine is currently in the dealership for this issue. The repair for this issue is replaced entire axle housing. Very expensive. Plus if the parts are not in stock Im told there is a 2 month wait. Totally unacceptable. What happens to us when this defect happens when the vehicle is out of warranty? Do the customers who already paid $50,000+ have to foot the bill for FCAs poor quality. There should be a service bulletin and extended warranty for this issue
Was considering one of the new grand Cherokees but after reading some of these horror stories I don’t want to get screwed either. Have owned 3 other jeeps in the past…older ones and I can understand issues with those and their high mileage. But vehicles cost too much to have such issues and absolutely no recourse.
I bought a 2010 Jeep and I can honestly regret buying it! I have transmission issues that cost a total of $4,000.00 dollars to fix. I am a disabled veteran and receiving disability, I have no way of paying this. My car only has 38K miles but being that it is past the years warranty, Jeep will not stand by its product. I wish there was a way for them to see the issues this has caused me and Now I am paying for a piece of junk that is sitting in the driveway. Oh by the way, This was my only transportation to my VA medical appointments. THANK YOU JEEP!
I live in South Australia,
Australia and I purchased a Grand Cherokee 16 mths ago and I am not happy about my gps. I travel alot interstate and I am not happy that my gps does not work properly. I have enquired at my local Jeep dealer and they have no answers. I would like to have a fully functional gps which Which considering what I paid.is not yoo much to ask. Jeep sells false commitments to prospective buyers. Here is my situation:
Jeep is company who boasts loyalty and encompasses the American image of superior service and quality over all their foreign and domestic competitors. Jeep declares they are award winning for their legendary lineup of durable vehicles. Jeep also declares they are a proud supporter of the US Military and veterans.
This is the image I envisioned of the Jeep brand when the Jeep salesman proclaimed all this to me. Even my mother swears by the Jeep name and my family and friends who have purchased many Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep products through the years have had good service.
Yet when I purchased my first Jeep I quickly found out that I bought into a falsely hyped up dream. I bought a Jeep Liberty 2012 Limited edition which was my first mistake, yes, even after reading all the negative reviews on the internet about the Liberty. I believed that if Jeep says they only make a superior product they must mean it, and all the Jeep critics are just wrong. Why should I yield to the Jeep critics warning when this reputable company has me believing their vision?
My second mistake was believing Jeep would fix my vehicle with their customer friendly manufacture warranty. When the Jeep salesman was selling me my vehicle and confidently bragging about how Jeeps never breakdown, and if they did, Jeep always puts the customer first. Please know right now I feel like I am in last place.
At this moment I have a problem with my vehicle and the funny thing is this very small problem is turning into a very large problem. I have a the perforated hole in the driver side seat and another perforated hole in the passenger seat caused by the seat belt latch that sit in the entrance ways of my vehicle. Every time I or someone else gets into the vehicle there is a possibility of getting stabbed in the back along with puncturing another hole in the seat, trust me I should know it’s happened to me plenty of times. The seat belt latch catches you when entering into the vehicle and when you sit back that’s when it gets you, like a bee sting, it really hurts. I actually have received a bruise from the latch.
I reported this issue to a Jeep dealership and they submitted photos to Jeep Headquarters (HQ) and after waiting a week I was informed this problem is not covered by the warranty because the holes in the seats was caused by an “outside influence” and is not considered a manufacturing defect nor a workmanship issue. I quickly appealed their decision, waited another week and got the same results. I even stressed to Jeep HQ that I’m getting injured by the seat belt latch. Jeep HQ did not care or show the slightest sympathy. There is no resolve from Jeep and now the holes are getting bigger.
I told a Jeep HQ representative that I no longer want the vehicle since they are not interested in me or honoring their warranty. I informed Jeep they are losing a customer, a US veteran that believed in their cause and campaign to support the troops. I’ve quickly come to realize Jeep’s boasting and campaigning is nothing more than a hollow advertisement tool to have you believe they are there for you, sadly they are not.
I told Jeep that I am willing to work with them to fix this problem, I even proposed a solution but they did not want to hear it. The cost to fix this problem is a grand total of $750.48. This cost to Jeep is mere pennies to them and they would rather lose a customer, the customer’s friends and family, and anyone who understands my situation and hears me.
I should have listened to the critics, followed the reviews, and not purchased the vehicle. I have learned a very expensive lesson.
For the Jeep enthusiasts I would like to sincerely apologize if I offended you, that is not my intention. I know Jeep has made many good products and I am happy they support our military members. I just do not believe in their commitment and loyalty to the customer. Please know you cannot understand my position until your go through it yourself.
Thank you Jeep, I understand it’s just business.
Their customer service is sad. I have never been so frustrated or angry over a car. The fact they just don’t care. I have experienced the same with my vehicle. They have open recalls but will not honor their recall because the dealer “flashed” the transmission and that was supposed to fix the bad PTU. Now there is a recall for the replacement TPU. Mine is listed as a vehicle with the extended warranty but they just won’t honor it. I was told today that the TPU, the leaking seals around the hatch and seams, and nor the electronic parking brake that is shorted out due to the leak, will be fixed at my expense. I refuse to spend one more cent. I am going to take a loss on this money pit and trade it in for either a 4Runner or Bronco. I really wanted a Wrangler, a Rubicon to be exact but thank you jeep for saving the heartache of another money pit.
We bought a Jeep Wrangler 2010 in 2010-, 6 speed standard Transmission while on holidays the clutch was acting up got home to Salmon Arm, BC and took it to Braby Motors our Chrysler dealer from whom we purchased it. (Jeep has only 37800 Km and driven strictly by myself and wife. Dealer advised trouble with the transmission (2nd Gear) then they phone and said the clutch was worn and needed replacing. I felt this very unusual as this is our 3rd Jeep and all standard transmissions 1st one traded in at 230,000 km 2nd traded in at 180,000 km and no clutch problems. The dealer, or service manager cannot explain why it wore out so soon. I feel that it must have had something to do with the transmission problem, and as you know the clutch is not covered by warranty. They charged us a total of $732.10 of which $520.72 was total parts cost. For which we feel that we should not have been charged as we feel this was a either a faulty clutch from the factory or caused by the transmission.
