Hi I bought an Exodus roof rack cycle carrier from ebay about 18 months ago which has been in my garage not used until now. We are having a spring clean out and wanted to sell the cycle carried but on doing research discovered that they had been recalled as being unsafe so we are unable to sell it. When we took it into our local Halfords shop they said they could not refund or replace without a receipt. As this was some time ago and bought on ebay I do not have any receipts for it. It seams unfair that I am left out of pocket with an unsafe item that I cannot sell due to poor design/ quality control of Halfords. I would request that I be allowed to return this item either for replacement or refund as stated on the recall notice.
Yours sincerely
D Farquhar
On 24 Feb 19 I ordered though your eBay site 1L Castrol Motorcycle Brake Fluid (item 322205756529) collection at the Newport, Isle of Wight store. Collection code 1952800736. I was advised on 25 Feb 19, by both email and a call from the store, that the item was ready for collection. When I went to collect this morning (26 Feb 19), I was offered Castrol Brake Fluid Dot 4 Protector Series which was not what I’d ordered. The salesman stated that he had checked that it was to the same specification as my order but he is not in a position to offer that technical assurance. I requested a refund and the salesman processed a refund to my Paypal account. I have no problem with the service from the store but I do object to wasting my time and money (petrol) on a journey not to collect the specific item I’d ordered. Please explain why I should order from Halfords in the future!
I went to purchase two electric bikes at Halfords Newport today, during the conversation with the assistant i asked would they change the saddle on one of
The bikes,,(I wanted the saddle to be more appropriate for make use) the assistant told me he’s no problem as long as I paid for the alternative saddle.
I informed the guy, I was i tending to spend in e,less of ยฃ2000 on bikes, and he wanted me to pay for a different saddle. Which he confirmed was correct without reference to any senior staff.
My response was i will not be buying any bikes from Halfords.
Little wonder they had a poor year if this is the way they deal with potential customers
Hi there feel you need to be made aware that your standards of bike assembly leave a lot to be desired in your Tiverton branch.
As bike safety is something we are both likely to agree is very important. Hopefully this information will lead you to improve your level of service and encourage more customers to buy with confidence and keep returning.
I recently bought an almost new Apollo bike which had been assembled at your Tiverton store had to take it to an independent bike store who had to rebuild it even the handlebars had put on wrongly gears didn’t work properly and components were loose. Fair enough that’s what you get for buying second hand one of. But sadly he imforms me he’s having to rebuild your bikes on a regular basis.
This concern me having had an accident a few years back due to a bad service to my bike at the time nothing to do with you. Hate to think there’s another accident waiting to happen due to poor standard of care.
