About Gili
Gili is a jewelry brand launched in 1994. It is owned by the Gitanjali group. Started as a single factory aimed at cutting and polishing diamonds for the jewelry trade at Surat, Gujarat, in 1966, the Gitanjali Group had a fairy tale experience in its growth, becoming a pioneer among major diamond and jewelry houses. The group is under the commendable leadership of its Managing Director Mr Mehul C Choksi. Apart from Gili, Gitanjali also owns other jewelry brands like Nakshatra, D’Damas, Sangini, Asmi, Diya, Parineeta, Rivaaz, Kashvi, Porrati etc.
Gili came up when jewelry was sold by individual proprietors employing artisans. Gili gave jewelry a casual definition which was completely different from its previous image. Gili, despite this formidable barrier, was able to build trust in the consumer’s mind with the focus on high quality, fine finish, diamond studded, and contemporary designer jewellery. Gili took over the Indian market with its unique, inimitable and never seen before products. Its marvelous designs featuring a blend of Indian and western nuances had made Gili jewelry a stupendous sensation among the urban youth.
Gili gave birth to the term branded jewelry in India. Gili sells jewelry in silver, gold, platinum, pearl, colored stones and diamond. Gold- the most precious metal of all time- can have different purity levels depending on the amount of other alloys mixed with it. It is rated on a scale from 18 karat to 24 karat. Gili deals in gold of various purity levels.
Gili makes rings, earrings, pendants, nosepins, mangalsutra, bangles and necklaces. Each product has a fresh design. These products are available in both ethnic and contemporary designs. Light, easy to carry, comfortable jewelry is the forte of Gili. The designs appeal to the youth and are a complete exception to heavy, occasional jewelry. Gili designs and sells jewelry for both men and women.
Gili was the first to give a ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ along with all its products. This only proves the purity of diamonds and gold sold by Gili. It maintains uniformity in its products by selling identical products in design and by quality.
Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has been the brand ambassador of Gili since 2008. Gili sells its jewelry through various retail outlets all over the country. In short, Gili is a brand that makes jewelry for all occasions and all age groups.
The group’s vision is “To be the world’s leading manufacturer of diamonds and retailer of branded jewellery, with a strong, globally diversified infrastructure and integrated operations efficiently linking diamonds from rough to retail.” Reach the Gili customer care for further information.
We went to exchange our old Gili set for a new set at Shoppers Stop, GIP Mall. We chose a new set and were told a price. We were also told the price of our old set. While billing, the price which was fed in the Shoppers stop system for the set we chose was a discounted price (30% discount). On enquiry was told by the salesman that discount is not given in case we exchange an old set. We spoke to Jasmita who also mentioned that it is a corporate policy. This is EXTREMELY SURPRISING since in any Jewellery Shop of some reputation like PCJ , P.C.Chandra,Tanishq,etc. the amount to be adjusted for an old set is on the Discounted Price. This is an outright Cheating and prices that your shop is not a reputed one.We will keep our friends informed so that noone goes to GILI. Will also be putting up on social media on how you cheat people. I am sure your business will shut down soon since you cheat on customers. Actually, could see from your present stock that it has already come down. I had spoken to Yogesh Saini and complained. SHAME ON YOU. It seems your company survives on cheating customers this way and you earn your daily bread by looting your customers.
