About Etihad Stadium
Etihad Stadium is an English football stadium with state of the art features and a seating capacity of 55,000. Home to the Manchester City Football Club, the stadium is currently the fifth largest in the Premier League. Besides football, the stadium also regularly hosts concerts and special events. First constructed for the Commonwealth Games in 2002, the multipurpose stadium is located just 1.5 miles from city centre and 11.2 miles from the Manchester International Airport. Also known as City Of Manchester Stadium, the venue is easily accessible by rail, tram/Metrolink, bus and taxi. While the nearest train station is Ashburys, you also have a dedicated Metrolink stop Etihad Campus. For those with their own automobile, there is pay-on-the-day parking available on match days at Blue Car Park’s G & H. Accessible car parking spaces are also made available at Grey car park on Ashton New Road. You can pre-book guaranteed parking on game days. Details of cost and locations are published on the website.
You can also follow the fixtures of upcoming matches or special events online. Tickets for games must be purchased through the Manchester City Football Club. While priority goes to members and season ticket holders, when it goes on general sale you can even purchase at the stadium. Fans can follow the announcements on the website to know the availability. To enjoy the matches in style, there are a number of suites and private boxes to be booked. The experience is a combination of comfort, finest dining and incredible views. Top suites include the Tunnel Club VVIP, Tunnel Club Premier and Chairman’s Club. You also have the popular Citizens and Legends where you will find padded seats and three-course buffet. Fans can also head to the club store to purchase tshirts, jackets, gifts or other merchandise.
The visitors section at the stadium opens 90-minutes prior to kick-off and is located in the South Stand. Disabled supporters can get wheelchair or other assistance here. There will be security search as you enter the stadium. Only compact cameras and small bags are allowed inside. Bottles, illegal substances, food, weapons, tools, airhorns, selfie sticks, professional cameras, among other items are prohibited in the stadium. Note that there is no storage facility available for bags. Lost an item during the game? You can reach the supporter services team that will assist you with same. If you are simply touring Manchester, add Etihad Stadium to the list of places to visit. There are stadium tours available with an English-speaking guide for 90 minutes. You can visit the dressing room, players’ tunnel, dugouts, press conference room and side of the pitch. It is a fabulous experience for any football fan. You can book an individual or group tour online.
